I sit on the soft carpet of my small living room and start meditating. I need to absorb as much energy as I can contain from the surrounding nature, it usually works better when I'm outside but this will have to do.
"Meow." Tinkerbell sits on my lap.
"This is not the time, Tinkie." I stand up and close her up in the bedroom.
A loud bang calls me back into the living room. I get my guns out and immediately rush towards the intruders.
Alexandros is standing in the doorway with a female vampire, a tall dark haired beauty. I start shooting and they get out of the house, I keep firing in their direction and follow them out in the open.
I feel rage and anger take over every cell of my body: how dare they defile this sacred place with their presence?
The vampire woman looks frozen into place, frightened out of her mind. She rushes towards a tree and hides behind it. It strikes me as an unusual behaviour, vampires are usually known to be vicious creatures that rejoice in violence and death.
Alexandros looks seriously pissed as a bullet centers his stomach and I am equally pissed about having finished my ammo in the heat of the moment. I take out my silver swords and wait for him to make a move.
He growls in some foreign language I do not recognize and extracts the silver ball from his abdomen with his bear hands, licking away the blood left on his fingers, which actually makes me want to puke. This is the first time I have seen him angry and, I can assure you, it is quite scary, especially since he always has an impassive face.
"Come on, bring it you filthy blood-sucker." I mutter under my breath.
"You must be aware of the fact I can hear that, right?" His angry face doesn't match his impassive voice.
"I am very well aware of that, thank you very much. Now, get the fuck off my property or bring it so I can finally kill you." I challenge him, getting pissed.
He smirks.
"No one can kill me."
"Wanna bet?" I answer gripping my swords tighter.
He uses his vampire speed and attacks me within seconds, but I'm ready for him, no one can beat me in my own territory. I jump upwards and avoid being hit by him, instead I kick him in the face with such a force I send him crashing against a tree.
"That's payback for last night, jerk." I bellow and walk towards him as he's getting up. Splinters of wood are sticking from his back. "Oh, right. It was twice wasn't it?" I kick him once again in the face.
His blood stains my bare feet and I can feel it sticking to them.
"Yuck."
Alexandros stands up, he seems to have lost all of his impassivity and a hard scary look is painted on his face.
"You can't win against me here, so do yourself a favour and just don't bother." I warn him.
He speeds towards me and punches me in the face, then grabs my neck and lifts me, practically choking me. My swords fall to the ground with a clang.
"Why do you want my friends dead?" His question is more of an order.
I smirk.
"I am not the one that wants them dead, I'm just the one that kills them." I speak, waiting for the right moment to free myself. "Plus, it's not like they don't deserve it."
"That is for me to decide. They will be punished accordingly."
"I will be the one doing the punishing, it is my job to ensure that the innocents safe."
I spread my arms and start calling for more energy just as my mother told me to do, his grip tightens around my neck. Yellow and green light floats from the ground towards my body and I immediately absorb it all.
"What are you?" Alexandros bellows.
I grab his hand and push it away, freeing myself from his grip and crouching down to catch my breath.
He speeds towards me once again and I pierce his stomach with my sword, the point sticking out his back. That must hurt like hell.
I get my other sword and grab a fistful of his hair, exposing his neck and wondering if I should cut his head of.
"NO!" A voice shouts and I see the dark haired woman coming running towards him.
I let him go and he stumbles forward. I know he's okay, though weakened by the silver sword.
"Take him away before I change my mind." I order her, she has tears in her blue eyes. "I don't want to see you here again, you have invaded a sacred territory, never forget that."
"You promised there would be no violence." She keeps on crying as she helps him up.
His eyes are fixed on me, they just won't let me go. He's looking at me with a strange expression, though it doesn't look like he wants to kill me anymore.
"I know, I'm sorry." He extracts the sword from his stomach and throws it on the floor. "But I can't leave until I know she won't harm our brothers."
"No can do, I get paid quite well and those assholes are fucking murders, they deserve it." I answer picking up my sword and walking towards my broken door.
"We'll pay double and assure you that they will be punished, it will stop the murders in the city, if that's what you want." The woman quickly speaks with a pleading tone.
I turn around just to see him look at her with a hard expression on his face.
"Is that so?" I ask them.
"Yes, whatever she says." He gives up, his wound healing immediately as she puts her hands over it. I have never seen a vampire capable of healing other vampires, especially silver infected wounds.
"Then we have a deal. You deliver two million pounds, cash, here by tomorrow night. I will assure you I will not kill your brothers. Now leave."
