"Well, that wasn't as difficult as I imagined." He smirks still holding me close to him.

As soon as my feet touch the ground I pull away from my fellow elf, whose proximity makes me feel uncomfortable. When I feel like there's enough distance between us, I inhale deeply, trying to calm myself down, feeling even more stressed as a result. I wish I could summon my usual badass elf side, but I guess that everything that's been happening lately is starting to affect me, unfortunately not in a good way.

The tunnel is dark and damp, it reeks of dead flesh and musk, not exactly the best of combinations if you ask me. As I turn to face him and ask what's next, I notice Raphael hasn't lost his smug, the emotional person I had seen just minutes earlier has been replaced by this arrogant façade I really find annoying.

"That was the easy part." Raphael answers as he draws out what looks like a sword and hands me two guns.

A low moaning echoes through the passageway giving me the chills. I turn to face the elf, wide eyed, but he doesn't offer any kind of explanation, he just stands there with his sword and my guns in hand, looking dead serious. Another loud moan, closer this time, makes me grab the guns and squeeze them in my hands as if my life depended from it. The familiarity of the cold metal handles instantly makes me feel better.

"Raphael, what's going on?" I ask him, feeling slightly uncomfortable with not knowing.

"You still pronounce my name in the same way, even if you don't remember me..." He smiles slightly but doesn't look me in the eye, he keeps his eyes fixed on the dark passage before us.

Then an all too familiar smell hits me. "Vampires." I raise my guns forward and keep my position, adrenaline already pumping in my whole system.

"Lots of them." Raphael nods.

"And was this part of the plan?" I curse under my breath.

He shrugs, making me want to punch him.

"Need I remind you that I've been held captive for God knows how long and still have a terrible headache?" I bellow. "Bloody stupid." I add under my breath.

"Have a little faith." He sighs, which only makes me want to punch him more.

"Shut the fuck up." I bellow and shoot an approaching vamp right in the head. It looks like there's a group of them just waiting for me to kill them and relieve some stress. I start shooting ahead of me and swearing under my breath.

"Yes, sir." He complies with a smirk as he slashes a vampire's head off.

"These vampires are weak." They stumble towards us one after the other, with hardly any balance and even less force. These don't resemble the ones I've been up against even remotely. They look more like zombies than vampires, that is if zombies were real.

"They have been held down here for a long time, as protection from everything that gets in from the outside and tries to get out from the inside of the headquarters." He cuts through another body. "Oh, and they don't get fed."

"Watch out!" I scream and shoot the beast approaching him from behind, stopping him just before he could bury its fangs in his neck.

"You could've killed me!" He hisses.

"A simple thank you would be nice."

He looks at the limp body at his feet and kicks it away. "Thanks."

"Fuck." I raise my guns once again and stare right in front of me in disbelief: there's a huge group of undead people blocking our way. "There are too many!" I scream hearing one of my guns click, I empty the other one on a couple of unfortunate vamps while Raphael throws me some more ammo.

"We have to go a little forward, I can't start plan B until we're in front of the exit passageway." The zombies stumble closer with every step.

I grunt and snatch a knife from his belt and put it in mine, then I start shooting at the creatures one after the other, taking out line after line, until my guns click again.

"Having fun?" Raphael smirks and I ignore him. I really hope we weren't lovers or something because I just can't stand him.

I approach the leftover vamps and start slashing through their bodies, their gooey and slimy consistency is making me sick.

"I wonder if your Immortal friends would become like this if they were ever shut in a dungeon and starved." The elf speaks out loud as he decapitates a rotting corpse.

"Shut it or your head will be the next." I warn him. "Now show me the way out." I order him in a dead serious tone.

He shakes his head and leads the way, walking over the piles of dead bodies underneath us.

"Quick, Lily!" He hurries me pointing behind us. The men in black gear are back, probably alerted by all the mess we made.

"Crap." I mutter and start running after him, secretly hoping they would be attacked by some vampires too, or at least trip over the putrid ones we have killed and be slowed down. "Is it close?" I grab my head with both hands and force myself to concentrate, but a strong pounding is threatening to take over.

"Not far, I swear." He keeps running in front of me, but I can tell he knows that something is wrong. "Can you make it?"

"Yes." I answer stubbornly, ignoring my bodies protest and running as fast as I can.

Raphael doesn't stop, every vampire that tries to stop him is cut by his sword, while my only mission is to not pass out.

"Here." He stops in front of a metal door and buries his sword deep in the neck of a blonde vampire woman. Then he proceeds inserting the code and pushing the door open.

"Go." He bellows, my vision starts to blur as soon as we exit, but I can hear bullets being shot but bouncing against the metallic door with loud clangs and fresh air hitting my face. A strong metal noise warns me that the door's closing.

I stumble and fall to the ground. I feel grass under my fingers and concentrate on my breathing, trying to extract energy the earth beneath me.

"Lily? Can you heal yourself?" He asks combing my hair back.

"I don't know how to do that, but I can absorb enough energy to get to the Immortal's house and have Agatha heal me." I try to stand up and manage just to gain enough balance to walk, at least my vision has gone back to normal though.

"What? You want to go there?" He asks in an angry tone.

"Yes. With or without you." I add.

He looks outraged.

"And you gave me a concussion, you moron."
