"Meow." a raspy tongue licks my nose and a soft furry head nudges my face gently.

"Tinkie, not now." I moan and cover my head with a pillow.

She manages to sneak under the covers and starts clawing my belly.

"Oh, fine!" I bellow and throw my pillow on the floor, scaring her away.

It takes me a few seconds to realise I am definitely not in my bedroom. I am currently lying in a queen sized bed with... Are these linen sheets?

I stroke them and take in the softness of the room surrounding me. Everything looks good enough to sleep in, including the furry carpet my feet touch as soon as I jump out of the bed.

A sharp pain interrupts my thoughts and a small moan escapes my lips as my hand reaches for my shoulder. Images start flooding my brain and clouding my view, the events of the attack and Alexandros, the vampire that might have saved my life and, by the looks of it, Tinkerbell's too.

I jump in fright when I feel a hand touching me.

"I am sorry to have startled you." The long haired vampire apologises, looking concerned. "You look confused."

"I am indeed." I study his grave expression and notice that his perfect skin is ruined by dark circles under his eyes.

"You are bleeding." He smells the air and his fangs start protruding.

I look at my hand and realise he is right.

"I will get some help, stay here." He orders and speeds out of the room.

For the first time since I met him I actually don't mind him ordering me around, I want the pain to stop and if he can do that that's fine by me.

I sit on the bed, my feet brushing the furry carpet and wait, still wondering where I might be and how the hell I got here.

"What the fuck?" I state at the pink silky pajamas I'm wearing and ask myself how on earth I got in them. On second thought, I don't think I want to know that.

He speeds back into the room, followed by the dark haired woman I had seen with him the second time we met. As they walk towards me I involuntarily crawl away on the bed.

"Lily, this is Agatha, she has healing abilities. Please let her look at your shoulder." His face is impassible as always but hers isn't at all. Her painful expression nearly makes me feel as if she was the injured one.

"Are you okay?" I ask her, feeling slightly unconfortable with her pain.

"Yes, I'm fine. I just don't like seeing people suffering." She moves closer and removes my bandages.

I can't help but furrow my brow. What kind of vampire doesn't enjoy seeing people suffer? They feed and kill people, their sole existence is reason of suffering.

She wraps her hands around my shoulder blade and I shiver from the touch, fighting my insticts from trying to jump away from her. The pain immediately starts to grow weaker and a calming warmth spreads through my entire body.

"How's this supposed to work?" I ask her critically.

"Just be patient." Alexandros speaks, his eyes still fixed on me, making me feel extremely exposed. I need to get out of here as soon as possible.

Agatha's eyes are closed and she seems deep in meditation, yet her face looks calm and peaceful, making her beautiful face look even more angelic.

"Here, done." She stands up, as light as a feather and smiles, the grave expression has left her face for good and her blue eyes are shining.

I look at my shoulder and the wound is gone, a small silver scar has taken its place.

"How is that even possible." I mumble under my breath.

"There are many things you do not know about us Immortals." Agatha still smiles at me. "But this is a tale for another time. I will leave you now." She exits the room slowly.

"Where am I?" I ask the man standing in front of me.

"In our home."

"I must go now." I stand up and reach for my kitty that is peacefully sleeping in the linen. "By the way, thanks for saving my cat."

"Lily, please wait, I must tell you something." He pleads. I doubt I will ever hear him plead again, so I might as well listen to what he has to say.

I look him in the eye and wait for him to speak. I can see him struggling to find the right words.

"You can't return home." It doesn't sound like an order, it sounds more like a statement.

"Why?"

"Because they burnt it down." My breathing increases and my heart starts thudding loudly in my chest. "I couldn't save it, I could barely take you and the cat. I am sorry."

I fall to my knees and start rocking back and forth, feeling broken inside, as if the only ties keeping me attached to my family have been torn.

"Please leave, I want to be alone." I ask him, refusing to break down in front of him.

"I..." He shuts his mouth and nods, walking towards the door with his fists balled.

I sigh in relief once his out of the room and I'm finally alone.

Tinkerbell sits on my legs and tries to comfort me, purring softly.

"At the end of the day it's all my fault, I should have never failed to kill the two Immortals. Then again it is my stupid fault for getting that job in the first place." I caress her fur and feel shattered and empty.

I don't want to stay in this house a minute longer, I refuse to stay in the house of the vampires that had a part in ruining my life. I hate vampires, I loathe them and I sure as hell don't trust them enough to be here.

The moon is full and the air is fresh, it hits me in the face as soon as I open the window. I barely recognise my surroundings, but I trust myself to find my way home.

"You no longer have a home." A little voice whispers inside my head.

"Let it be a fucking hotel then." I bellow.

"Let's go, Tinkie. It's going to be a very long night. " I pick her up and jump down the small balcony.
