When I used to get sad or lonely, before any of this mess had happened, I remember I would just sit in a corner of my small house and stare out of the window, knowing that somewhere in the world someone was doing the exact same thing, and then I would no longer feel so alone. Not that I feel alone right now, I just have this weird feeling inside my chest, like I'm not supposed to not feel alone.
"Are you alright?" a pair of strong arms hug me from behind.
I take a quick sip of my coffee and keep stroking my cat with the other hand.
"Yeah, fine." I smile and rest my head on his left arm. "Just wondering when all of this will be over, I'm getting fed up with all this fighting and struggling for God knows what reason."
"We will find out soon enough, of that I am sure." He strokes my hair as I do the same with Tikerbell's fur. She seems to have got used to the Immortal's house quickly, acting like the queen of their lair and loving all the attention, especially Agatha's.
"My best men are on it." He adds kissing my lips lightly. There are a few moments of embarrassing silence consisting in me eyeing him suspiciously and him not managing to decipher my look.
"What best men?" I laugh nearly spilling my coffee on my cat's white fur, who is extremely offended by the act and jumps of the bed. "It's like a quote from a bad movie."
"Agatha!" Lysander's voice calls as the loudly stumbles into the bedroom. "Oh, you two."
"The whole proximity thing sort of makes me sick." Lucius adds with a smirk, casually combing his hair back with his hand.
"Oh, shut up, you're just jealous because you can't actually manage to be around a girl for more than five minutes without eating her." I snap back.
Alexandros snickers at his brothers' faces.
"Anyway, Floriana won't budge." Apparently not being able to find an appropriate answer, Lysander chooses to ignore my answer. "We've tried everything in our power."
"I do sincerly hope you have not harmed her." Alex stands up and inspects them closely, not bothering to cover up his nudity.
"Of course not." Lucius answers a tad too fast. "And, please, put some blimmin pants on." He adds shielding his eyes with his hands.
Alexandros' stare intensifies.
"I promise, no unrepairable damage has been done." Lysander smiles, crossing his hand over his heart in a swearing manner.
"For crying out loud, it's our sister we're talking about here! Get Agatha, now!"
The two hurry out of the room, snickering. Though I can see a trace of fear in their eyes as they leave. I suppose this situation is destabilising even for them and their shockingly fearless personalities.
"Best men, huh?" I tease Alex as he reaches for some underwear.
"This is not the time, Lily." He brings himself on top of me in a protective manner.
"Well, they sure are a bit psychotic. The killing, the stalking, the voyeurism-" I shrug, tracing my finger along his face.
"Thank you, my dear, for stating the obvious." He kisses my forehead and he leaves the room. "Now let me go fix this whole situation."
" I'll be there in a moment."
"I'd rather you not be there, it is going to get ugly, I fear."
"That's exactly what I count upon." I retort, watching the door close behind him.
Though being cruel isn't supposed to be in my nature, I long for Floriana's punishment, I long for her suffering and I long for my vengeance. Being captured like an animal left me feeling weak and exposed, they had scared me into ever going back to my own house, and being able to get part of that control back is exactly what I need. I won't play the frail little elf role anymore, I had beaten the most powerful Immortal in battle once, and it's time for me to get my self esteem back.
I throw on my leather skin tight trousers and a black t-shirt before jumping off the balcony and into the garden. I need to power up, and nature is the only way I can regain my strenght in a hurry. Sitting on the damp grass I begin to meditate, loosing myself inside my own head until I can't hear the birds singing anymore and everything around me turns white and peaceful. Energy begins flowing inside every single cell of my body, leaving the earth, the grass, the trees and every living thing around, igniting me from the inside out.
"Impressive." Someone comments from behind me.
My eyes fly open and my instincts kick in. I turn around, stretching a leg out, and kick my opponent's legs, sending him tumbling to the ground.
"Was that really necessary?" Raphael asks me with an annoyed tone.
"Sorry, you just caught me by surprise." I help him up. "Please don't do that again."
He has a funny express painted over his face, but nods anyway.
"Where are you headed?" He follows me closely, I find myself not liking his presence around me even if he's an elf.
"I'm going to see Floriana's interrogation, it should be fun." I sound like Lysander much more than I'd like to admit.
"As much as I would like seeing her suffer for attacking us, aren't you tired of all this violence?" He sighs, shaking his head and closing his hand over my arm.
"Yes, I am." I nod thoughtfully. Raphael seems relieved for a couple of seconds, but his look is immediately replaced with one of horror by my next words. "But I will make an exception."
"I don't recognise you anymore." He whispers with a barely audible tone, letting go of me in a hopeless way.
I never did recognise you, I think to myself.
"Listen, you can choose to stay here or come with me, either way I'm doing this and there's nothing you can do or say that will change my mind." I don't even stop walking, his presence is starting to annoy me and the touch of his hand left an unpleasant stinging sensation on my arm.
He finally gives up and follows me. "Fine, let's go."
