Alexandros POV
The Immortal house gets its name from the fact it had always been there, in the same spot, though it's obviously very different from when we first built it. We have travelled the world, seen every corner of it, yet we come back here every single time.
When you've lived for so long things start feeling unimportant, changeable, and you need some sort of stability, a place you can go back to, a place you can call "home". This is my home, the home where my brothers and sisters come back to, the place where we can be kind of a family.
I can't help but sigh when I think about how things were so much easier back in the days. We were treated like gods, served and adored, nowadays we are hunted and running towards extinction in order to survive.
"What are you looking at?" Agatha asks me, standing by my side.
I can tell she's still shocked by what happened today. Agatha always had a good heart, she was never meant to be a vampire, but that's what life's like: full of surprises. This was supposed to be a negotiation mission, nothing more, instead I ended up having my ass kicked for the first damn time in my life and she ended up having to witness it.
"The house." I smile lightly. "It's always good to have a place to come back to, people to come back to."
"Yes, it is." She smiles too and starts walking towards it. "Are you not coming?" She turns around towards me.
"Just a couple more minutes." I confess I have never felt vulnerable in my entire life and I have never been beaten, especially by a woman. It hurts my pride, a lot. The only thing I can think about are the two very stubborn vampires that put me in this awkward position.
I storm inside the house and to Lucius and Lysander's rooms.
"Come out, now!" I order them from the hallway.
The two spoilt brats stand before me with smirks plastered across their faces. I turn around and their faces go blank, they can feel my anger.
"I went to the girl's house." I announced walking around the room.
"Did you kill her?" Lysander asks excitedly.
"No, I negotiated." I purposely leave out the part in which she beat me raw, after all I do have a reputation to uphold.
"You WHAT?" Lucius bellowed.
I run towards him and grab him by the neck, just like I did with the hunter, though her skin was much softer and the energy in her eyes was something else. Something I have never felt before.
"You will not use that tone with me." I mutter angrily. It annoys me that I always have to remind them who's in charge and why, sometimes I wonder if I made the right choice when I chose them to be my fellow Immortals.
I let him go and he massages his throat with a hand, looking at me with angry eyes, but thankfully not saying a word.
"I'm fed up of cleaning up your messes." I declare starting to pace once again. "I'm tired of you attracting attention towards the family and getting us in trouble. You will stop your little escapades and start following my rules or face the consequences. Do I have to remind you what the consequences are?" They gulp down loudly, I can smell their fear, I would be afraid too if I had been locked into a dark cell without food for a couple of years. "This is not the fifteenth century, there are people able to kill us and slaughter us, especially since the ritualistic dagger went missing, and I will not have you risk the rest of us because of your little perversions"
Lucius tries to reply but is immediately stopped by my furious glare.
"I am not finished." I bellowed. "Now, you will each give me one million pounds to stop the girl from killing you, and secondly you'll be punished for disobeying my orders."
"This is absurd! Since when can one fight against nature? We are predators, God damn it!" Lysander retorts.
"You are murders! It is one thing to kill in order to feed, though not even that is necessary, another to leave a trail of bodies behind you that threatens to expose us. And for what? For fun? Sex? Pay a damn prostitute." I spit at them feeling angry. "You little spoilt brats, you should be grateful and kiss the ground I step on, instead you just stand there and defy every single one of my rules. Might I remind you that I am the one that allows all of this." I spread my arms open and point at their rooms. "And remember one thing the next time nature calls, dear brothers: I can and will end you as easily as I made you." I look Lysander in the eye and dare him to answer back at me.
"Perfect, now that this is settled, where are those famous two million pounds?"
The two little brats groan loudly.

"I was going to knock." I try to excuse myself.
I'm starting to think this place really is sacred. It's smell intoxicates me, it is sweet and fresh, and the sounds are ever so relaxing.
"That would've proven a bit difficult since you broke my door." She raises an eyebrow and smirks.
I haven't seen a creature like her in a very long time, her hair is the colour of the sun during winter times, her eyes are mysterious and her body, though very slender and graceful, hides strenght and power.
"Yes, about that, I am really sorry. Sometimes it proves difficult for me to be civil." I lower my gaze.
"No worries, I suppose I will get it fixed thanks to those two million pounds." She extends her hand and I hand the case to her.
I hear a faint buzzing.
"Excuse me." She hurries in her house.
"No, I will not accept the job." I know there's nothing honorable in listening to the conversations of others, but my curiosity surpasses my chivalry. "I have already told you they will no longer represent a problem. If you want them dead you can kill them yourself, I'm retiring. Have a good life." she hangs up.
"We were saying?" She asks once again coming towards me.
A white furry cat starts rubbing itself on my legs.
"That's odd, she normally hates bloodsuckers." She furrows her brow in confusion observing the feline.
"Nothing, I will leave now." I try to smile, but as usual it is difficult for me. "A pleasure doing business with you."
"I would love to say likewise, but it just wouldn't be true." She smirks and picks up the creature, stroking its head. It is such a simple gesture, though a very intimate one.
"Get lost now, Immortal."
I am shocked by her words for a little time: no one talks to me like that. I consider forcing her to apologise, but I know that wouldn't end well either. I can still feel the silver of her sword burning in my chest if I think about our encounter yesterday.
I just shrug it off and walk away. One day I will make her respect me, but I need to have patience and wait for the right moment. Not that time is an issue, I have plenty of that.
