I was out with Theo, we found a little park; and I sat and watched Theo run and jump around. It was nice out today. It wasn't too hot, which was good. The sky was a brilliant blue and the sun made everything look so beautiful.
Theo was buzzing all week, asking me question about Duff and when he can see him again.
I was glad that Theo was taking such an interest in his dad; but it was getting excessive.
"Hey there!"
I looked over and saw Gilby, smiling and walking up to me.
"Hello, Gilby." I grinned, he took a seat next to me
"Gettin' all the energy out of this kid, are ya?" Gilby chuckled, referring to Theo running around
I nodded, "He's a busy boy."
"I can tell." Gilby smiled
"How are you?" Gilby asked more seriously
"I'm okay." I said blandly
"I just," I sighed
"I have a lot to think about right now." I said, staring out into the distance, I watched Theo pick up a stick and start walking around with it.
"I understand that, but maybe you should just forget about all that for awhile. Just, y'anno, have some fun." Gilby shrugged
"I would like to but...I don't know." I said and exhaled deeply
"Yeah, I know. But if you ever want to just, get away for a while, I'm here." He smiled sheepishly
"Well thank you, Gilby." I smiled
"I want ice cream!" Theo shouted
"You want ice cream?" I asked
"What's the magic word?"
"Please!" Theo said excitedly
"Alright, come on." I stood up and grabbed Theo, Gilby walked along with me to the small ice cream cart down the street. Theo rummaged around until he found the one he wanted.
"I'll pay for it." Gilby stated
"What? No, no, that's okay I can get it."
"No seriously, let me. It's just a few dollars." He smiled kindly, his eyes glowing
"Fine, but just this once!" I smiled shyly
Gilby smiled and turned to the man to pay, Theo was licking his ice cream, it looked like it was going to topple over onto the ground.
"Here Theo, hold it like this." I said, and adjusted his grip
I stood back up and turned around, Gilby was holding two more ice cream cones and wore a shy smile.
"Gilby." I blushed, but still in a bit of annoyance
"What?" Gilby shrugged "I know you love strawberry ice cream." He grinned and handed me the cone
"Thank you." I said quetly
The three of us walked down the street and found a small table with an umbrella shielding us from the sun.
After finishing the ice cream, I stood up to go throw away the mess of napkins that I needed to wipe Theo's face. As I spun back around to go back over to our table, a man in a suit stopped me.
"Miss! You're Taylor Isbell, correct?" He asked
"Uh, yes?" I said, uneasily
"Hello, I'm Paul. I run a modeling agency, have you ever thought about modeling? You have the perfect body for it, and a beautiful face. Plus, you're already well known."
