It had been a year but Melissa still couldn't accept the fact that she actually was engaged to Greyson. Greyson Chance, that boy who used to be her everything once upon a time. Now he was a grown up guy, a good looking one.

If Melissa and her father didn't attend the wedding, she was sure she would never know her future fiancé was going to be Greyson until the day they got engaged. The wedding was Alexa's, Greyson's elder sister who got married to her boyfriend. That's when Melissa knew everything. She couldn't process her mind because it was her first time meeting Greyson face to face and she wasn't prepared.

Melissa knew there's nothing she could do about it because she already agreed to her father. She didn't want to embarrass her father in front of the Chance family. If only she knew from the start that the couple's surname was Chance, it wouldn't be like this. Now it was late and she had to accept the fact that she was gonna be Greyson's wife.

They were supposed to get married three months after the engagement but Melissa wanted more time so her father discussed it with Greyson's parents and they agreed to give both Melissa and Greyson a year to get to know each other. However, Greyson on the other side couldn't care less about the marriage thing so he just let his parents decide on everything. He only wanted his parents to be happy so he sacrificed his love life which he didn't really have and agreed to whatever his parents had planned for him. All he ever wanted was his singing voice so that he could sing again and get his old career back. Business just didn't suit him, unless it involves music of course.

And when the wedding day came, Greyson could still adjust his tuxedo in front of the mirror calmly with his expressionless face.

"Greyson, my boy..." Lisa spoke when she entered the room. Greyson didn't turn to his mom, still checking his appearance in the mirror.

"I'm not a boy anymore, mom."

"You're forever a baby to me." Lisa lightly chuckled. "My son is so handsome." Lisa covered her mouth as the tears roaming in her eyes.

"I know-Why are you crying? It's gonna ruin your make up." Greyson wrapped his arm around his mom.

   "Greyson..."

   "Hmm.."

   "Please take care of her."

Greyson looked at the ground and stayed quiet.

"She only has her father. She deserves to be loved. I know you two will get along and I believe you will be a good husband to her."

Greyson still stayed in silence. He didn't know what to say and he couldn't promise anything to his mom. He would just let time decides for everything.

Meanwhile Melissa and her father was having a deep conversation in the car. Mr. Anderson put his hand on Melissa's, slightly squeezing it.

"I want you to be happy."

Melissa turned to look at her father, answering the words with a smile, it was fake but her father didn't notice that.

"I wish she was here to witness my special moment." Melissa said.

"She was watching from above. You look so beautiful today she must be proud having you as her daughter." Mr. Anderson said with a warm smile on his face.

Melissa looked away at the window when her tears started falling down. She wiped it quickly before it ruins her make up.

Greyson was already at the church standing in front of a priest, waiting for his future wife to appear. Once the bride arrived, she was escorted by her father to walk down the aisle.

The ceremony was witnessed by the audiences who mostly were Greyson's relatives and closed friends. Melissa's were there too but not as many as Greyson's because she didn't really have friends and her relatives lived far away from the town.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." Hearing that, Melissa's palms started to get cold and sweaty as she slowly turned to Greyson who was already looking at her. Everyone in the seats was waiting for the moment to happen. Melissa bet Greyson wouldn't kiss her because they barely know each other and she knew Greyson didn't love her so why would he kiss her?

But she was wrong when all of a sudden Greyson pulled her by the waist towards him and placed his other hand on her cheek, closing the gap between them. He then leaned in and kissed Melissa on the lips making the girl stunned, unable to move. Melissa's eyes were wide open as she stared at Greyson in disbelief.

It was my first kiss!! She mentally screamed.

Greyson pulled away and that's when Melissa realised that they just kissed in front of many people who were still cheering for them. Her cheeks felt hot and she couldn't face Greyson anymore. She wanted to run far away from there.

The after party was attended by only family and closed friends of both bride and groom. After the guests left, they gathered at Greyson's place to have a little celebration between Greyson's family and Melissa's.

"My legs hurt wearing these." Melissa complained while removing the high heels from her feet. She massaged her legs under her wedding dress and didn't notice someone was watching her.

"Welcome to the family, honey!" Lisa cheerfully said.

"Ah, Lisa-"

"No, no. You have to call me Mom Lisa from now on." Lisa grinned at Melissa.

Melissa smiled at that. "Alright, mom Lisa!"

"Now, that's right." Lisa walked closer to Melissa and hugged her. She pulled away and said, "Thank you, Melissa."

"For what?" Melissa asked in confusion.

"For accepting my son in your life. I know you just had to do it." She frowned.

Melissa held both of Lisa's arms. She looked at the woman and said, "Don't say that. I'm happy to be part of your family. I hope you all can accept me in. I have no one beside my dad." Melissa smiled but it slowly faded when Lisa said, "And you have Greyson now. He will take care of you." Lisa cheerfully said and patted Melissa's arm.

"Ye-yeah." Was all Melissa could say.

Mr. Anderson and his in-laws were chatting and laughing in the living room for about an hour until Greyson appeared outta nowhere at the scene and spoke all of a sudden.

"I think it's time." All eyes were on him.

"Oh, why so soon?" His dad asked.

   "Becau-"

"Because they are newlywed couple, honey. It's okay, they must be tired and need rest too." Lisa winked at her husband. Melissa who sat beside her father didn't understand what they were talking about but she knew that Greyson was going somewhere.

"Let's go?" Greyson looked at Melissa.

   "Where are we going?"

"Mel, dear. You are going to your new house. We bought it for you and Greyson as a wedding gift."

   "But my dad-"

"Don't worry about me, Mel. I can take care of myself. Go follow your husband, okay?" Mr. Anderson spoke. Melissa hugged him tight, not letting go.

"Hurry dear, Greyson is waiting." He pulled away from the hug. After that Greyson approached them to shake hands with his father-in-law and hugged him.

"Don't worry, Melissa. You can always visit us here. Greyson will drive you." Lisa said before hugging Melissa.

After they bid goodbye, Greyson drove his car to their new house located not so far from his parents'. Melissa wasn't comfortable with the awkward silence in the car so she just closed her eyes and in less than five minutes, she fell asleep.
