Melissa was leaning on the headboard and stared at nothing. Something was bugging her and she was unsure about her thoughts. The conversation they had at her in-laws' that evening played in her head repeatedly.

"Is there a baby inside?"

"Wwhat do you mean?"

"You clearly know what I meant." Alexa took Melissa's hands and placed them on her growing belly. Melissa's eyes scanned the baby bump.

"You have done it, right? Don't be shy. It's a normal thing, what." Alexa chuckled.

"Alexa, don't push her. That's a sensitive matter." Lisa spoke.

"I'm just asking, mom. Just curious."

"Iwe haven't had anything...like that." Melissa lied. She pulled her hands back and looked down. She could feel her face getting hot.

"Really? So that purple mark isn't a love bite then?" Melissa looked up at Alexa to see her eyes were focusing on her neck. Then she remembered that one mark that still hadn't fade away so her hand automatically covered up the place where Greyson first bit her. Melissa remembered because it was the most painful hickey Greyson gave her. It was still there because of the harshness.

"What are you thinking?" A sudden voice snapped Melissa to reality.

Greyson was doing the same thing, leaning on the headboard and when Melissa realized it she backed away from him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, panicking because they were in the same room again. She stood up holding a pillow.

"I knocked on the door but there was no answer so I entered to check if you're already asleep. It turned out you're still awake so I thought we need to talk but seems like you were in a deep thought." Greyson breathed out. "Do you have a problem?"

"It's none of your business."

Greyson sighed. "I have something to ask so can you please sit down here?"

"I'm fine here. So what is it? Make it short because I'm sleepy." Melissa lied.

"Alright, whatever you're comfortable with." Greyson raised his eyebrows. "So, before we left Edmond this evening, I talked with mom and she acted weird."

"What do you mean by weird?" Melissa raised an eyebrow.

"She told me to take a good care of you, and to not let you stress. I had a thought that you were sick or something but then she gave me a smile so I guess that's not it. Did something happen that I don't know?"

Melissa paled. Why is everyone talking about the same thing? She thought.

"Mel? Is everything okay?" Greyson asked when he saw Melissa froze in her spot.

"Y–yeah. I want to sleep."

"You're not hiding anything, aren't you?" Greyson eyed Melissa suspiciously.

"Of course not! Why would I? And why would you care anyway? Please, leave. I want to sleep." She said looking away.

Greyson got up from the bed and glanced at Melissa. "What am I supposed to do to make you accept my apology?"

Melissa instantly got in bed and buried herself under the cover. She heard Greyson sigh before he left the room.

The next morning, Melissa woke up rather early in the morning because she wanted to pee. Then she went to the kitchen to drink some water. She was surprised she didn't feel like having a glass of milk like she usually did. It was 7:20AM when she glanced at the wall clock. There was no sign of Greyson everywhere so he must be in the room getting ready for work.
