"How is she? Is she alright?" Greyson asked the doctor once he finished checking Melissa. The doctor just smiled and kept his stethoscope in the briefcase he brought with him.

"She's just fine, right?" Greyson asked impatiently because the doctor still hadn't answered his questions.

"Your wife is alright. Nothing serious." Greyson breathed out a sigh of relief. "She fainted due to low blood pressure but it is stable now. It's best not to let her stress out or thinking too much since it can affect both her and the baby." The doctor explained.

Greyson froze at the doctor's last word. "Did you just mention...the baby? Sh-she is...p-pregnant?"

"Yes. It's already five weeks." The doctor noticed Greyson's shock expression. "I assume you had no idea that your wife's pregnant. Is she aware?"

Greyson shook his head slowly, not really answering the doctor's question but more to what Melissa's reaction would be if she knew about this. However, the doctor took the act as an answer.

"So, congratulations, Greyson. You're going to be a father soon." The doctor patted Greyson's back in a brother manner. Greyson was still in disbelief.

"So that explains her weird behaviour and mood swings." Greyson muttered.

"Mood swings, morning sickness, food aversions and some more are the symptoms in the early pregnancy. Did she show any or all the symptoms I've mentioned?"

"Mood swings, yes. She hasn't had any morning sickness so far but instead, I did and I don't know why." Greyson said scratching the back of his neck.

The doctor laughed. "In some cases, men experience swings of their own as their partner's pregnancy progresses so they might show hormonal changes as their partner proceeds through pregnancy. The good thing is, it may help both partners to support each other if they realize both are going through changes. So, you don't have to worry about it. It's like you're sharing the experience with your wife."

Greyson nodded, noting down every single detail on his mind.

The doctor continued again, "One more thing, the first trimester is vital for the development of the baby so it's very important for the mother to maintain a healthy diet to help prevent any defects."

"That's a lot of useful information since this is new to me." Greyson chuckled nervously. "Anyway, thank you very much, doctor and I'm really sorry to disturb you at this time."

"Don't mention it, it's already my job. Call me if anything, okay? And congratulations once again." They shook hands before the doctor excused himself.

After the doctor left, Greyson climbed the bed and settled down next to Melissa's sleeping body. He studied her face for a minute.

"Hey, there's a little one inside there." Greyson whispered then he glanced at Melissa's tummy and back to her face again. "We're soon to be mommy and daddy." He brought her hand up and laced their fingers together.

Greyson admitted that although he was happy with the news, he was also nervous about what Melissa would think and feel after she knew that she was pregnant with his baby. Greyson was fully aware that it happened because of what he did to Melissa that night. They both knew there wasn't love. That's what Greyson was scared of.

As thoughts were filling up his head, Greyson's eyes started to droop slowly taking him to unconsciousness with their entwined hands resting on Melissa's tummy.

When Melissa woke up the next morning, she was surprised to see a hand wrapped around her stomach. It was Greyson's. He was still asleep and there was a pucker between his eyebrows. Melissa hesitantly brought her fingers up to remove the line on his face. Is he having a bad dream?

Melissa slowly removed Greyson's hand from her tummy and got up from the bed. Once she stood up, her head was spinning and her vision blurred. Melissa held her head and quickly sat down on the bed. The pressure stirred Greyson from his sleep. He could see a sight of Melissa sitting in front of him but it was blurry.

"Hey, morning." His husky voice greeted. He rubbed his eyes to clear his vision and sat up straight when he saw Melissa was clutching at her head.

"Are you okay? What's wrong?" He asked being concerned.

Melissa turned a bit but didn't meet Greyson's eyes. "I'm okay, I guess. Just a headache. By the way, what happened last night? I couldn't recall."

That made Greyson quietened. How was he going to tell her about the news? Greyson assumed Melissa was in the right mood to talk about this but still he was scared that Melissa would go emotional and get stressed out again when he told her the truth.

"Greyson?"

Greyson looked into Melissa's eyes when he breathed out the sentence, "Mel, you're five weeks pregnant."

Greyson started to worry when Melissa just stared at him expressionless. Nothing came out from her mouth for a minute or more. "Mel?"

"You know how much I hate it when I'm being serious but the other person is not." She sternly said, still not leaving Greyson's eyes.

"I'm not kidding, I promise. You fainted last night so I called the doctor to come and he said that you're pregnant. It's already 5 weeks."

Melissa closed her eyes and shouted, "No, you lied!"

"Why do I have to lie about something like this? I'm serious, Mel." Greyson said.

The thing that Greyson was afraid of was happening. Melissa didn't seem to believe and she refused to believe that there was another heartbeat in her tummy. Greyson didn't understand what made it so hard for Melissa to just accept the fact and face the truth.

"No..." She whispered looking at the floor. Her tears were threatening to fall. Greyson came to her side and made her sat beside him.

"Let bygones be bygones, Melissa. Forget the past and let's start a new life together."

Melissa's head snapped to Greyson. "I don't want it to be like this. This is not what I wanted. I'm still young. I don't want to be a mother at this age. This is all your fault!" She pushed Greyson's shoulder and stood up.

"That's it." Greyson grabbed Melissa's wrist and dragged her to follow his track.

"What are you doing? You're hurting me!" She struggled to escape from Greyson's grip but only to no avail.

Greyson stepped into the bathroom and stopped in front of the mirror. "Look in the mirror." He said releasing Melissa's wrist. Melissa slowly turned her head to look at her reflection in the mirror. "What do you see?"

Melissa didn't answer. She saw a miserable looking girl in the mirror. Tears started to fall again.

"I see a woman who still lives in her past." Greyson said. Both of them were looking at Melissa's reflection. "I know what I did is unforgivable, I don't blame you to get mad at me, hate on me. But at least right now, think about" Greyson took Melissa's hand and placed it on her stomach, "this little one."

Melissa tried to hold back her sobs when Greyson did that. He continued, "I'm really sorry for everything I've done. For hurting you." Greyson stood behind Melissa and rested his chin on her shoulder. He wrapped his arms around her and placed their hands on Melissa's stomach.

"We can start it all over again. Me, you and our baby."
