Pitch Purrfect

"Ooh! I can't believe her!"

A peeved Zoe Trent was sitting in a corner, obviously ticked off, according to her current facial expression. She, Sunil, Vinnie and Penny Ling were participating in an acapella competition being held in the school's auditorium. Her group had practiced their song all day nonstop! Right now, Delilah Barnsley and her group were currently performing. However, there was only one problem...

Delilah was singing their song!
HER song!

"The nerve of that girl!" She hissed as Penny Ling and Vinnie peaked out through the curtain. Sunil was leaning against the wall with his head down.

"Wow...that's low..." Vinnie muttered.

"And she knew we were practicing that song!" Penny added, slightly frowning.

"And to think that I actually liked her..." Sunil said to himself, obviously not happy at Delilah's move. He felt devastated, betrayed even. He was fond of Delilah when they had first met, and she even showed signs of interest in him! But now? She had just back stabbed their group as if it were nothing.

At that moment, Delilah and her group made their way backstage, finishing their performance. Zoe took one look at her and immediately glared at her. She stood up and made her way over to the girl.

"You stole our song!" Zoe cried out, obviously angry.

Delilah's eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh I would never do that!" She responded in shock,
"I asked Mila to get your permission!..." She then stopped and looked over to her group.

"You did get Zoe's permission yes?"

The group members could only stare at each other and immediately one by one began to point fingers at each other, signaling that they had told the other to do it. Delilah could only gasp in "surprise."

"Mila!" Delilah exclaimed, "that's awful!"

"What's awful exactly?" Zoe gritted her teeth.

The three other girls slowly backed away from the scene after witnessing Zoe's not so amused facial expression. Penny, Sunil and Vinnie decided to make their way over to Zoe, in case she needed back up.

"I am so sorry Zoe!" Delilah said, sounding sincere. "But it seems that none of my girls had asked for your permission! I am deeply truly sorry!" Delilah sighed. At that moment, Zoe had begun to feel a bit of sympathy for the model.

"Well...I guess it's-"

"But at this point of the competition," Delilah abruptly said,
"it's like they say, you can't unclang a clanged bell..." Before Zoe could react, Delilah sashayed and turned away from the group, walking away.

Well if THAT didn't make Zoe any more furious...

"...NO ONE SAYS THAT!" Zoe shrieked, then sulking.

"Well she just did..." Vinnie obviously started, earning a smack in the shoulder from Sunil.

"Oh...what's the point now? We should just drop out of the competition..." Zoe sadly sighed. Penny Ling put an arm around her.

"Why don't we just sing the same song? Only way better than they did!" Penny suggested.

"We can't! Everyone will just think we're copy cats!"

Vinnie began to silently snicker at the word, immediately earning another smack in the shoulder by Sunil.

"We should just leave..." Zoe grabbed her school bag and was making her way out of the auditorium.

"Okay....but can we go grab a bite to eat? Seeing all those food commercials made me hungry!" Vinnie exclaimed as he patted his stomach, which was grumbling.

At that moment, Sunil abruptly stopped.

Food...

Commercials...

"That's it!" He suddenly exclaimed, earning everyone's attention.

"We're gonna get food?!" Vinnie asked, hopefully.

"Even better!" Sunil smirked.

"I just got an idea...."

Author's Note: Yass this is based off the episode "Pitch Purrfect" 🌚👌 I got a few of the dialogue from the the episode itself. I made this the Human AU version so I had to remove one of the puns from the scene (the copycat one XD) but yeah! I'm planning to humanize a couple of other scenes from the show as well! C:💕
