"Ugh. Today has just not been my day."

Pepper Clark groaned in disappointment as she laid her lunch tray on the table. The hamburger and fries slightly jumped up at the force made by the girl. Across from her, Zoe and Russell were already seated, eyeing the girl with curiosity.

"Bad day huh?" Russell raised a brow.

"You have no idea..." Pepper muttered as she took her seat.

"Darling I'm sure it's not as bad as it sounds!" Zoe began to say, in attempt to cheer up the usually chipper comedian. However, it hasn't been working.

"Not bad? Do you think getting detention over one homework assignment is not bad?! I'll pass..." She sulked her head on the table and sighed. And to think that the assignment was fairly easy too.

"Well, why didn't you do it?" Russell asked, taking a bite from his sandwich.

"Obviously because I didn't feel like it! Not to mention that it was weird looking..." Pepper slightly chuckled.

"Weird as in how exactly?" He crossed his arms. Zoe raised a brow and looked at him.

"Well...I think it had to do with this thing called logs...-"

Zoe suddenly let out a snort, earning Pepper's attention.

"Seriously? I found that easy!" She smirked as Sunil and Vinnie quietly sat down at the table.

"You finding math easy? I don't buy it." Pepper smirked back.

"Logarithmic functions? Didn't you learn that in geometry?" Russell perked up.

"I don't remember that...but we're doing it again." Pepper shook her head.

"I don't see the point in it." Zoe agreed as she pulled out her phone and began to text someone.

"You don't see the point?" Russell gasped in disbelief.

"Logarithmic functions play a key role when it comes to graphing! I found it very easy back then!"

"Yeah? And what about now?" Vinnie chuckled. Russell sent him a light glare.

"Well, I guess you can say that it's much more...difficult now..."

"Oh riiight! I forgot! We're taking to AP Calculus here!" Vinnie nudged him, grinning.

"Actually, it's AP Calculus BC."

A chirpy voice exclaimed from behind. The others turned their heads to find Minka and Penny Ling, making their way over to the table. Pepper's smirk could only increase.

"Well. Since when did you know that, Minks?" She grinned as the two sat down across from her.

"How can I not? That's all he ever talks about!" She giggled as the orange haired boy cleared his throat.

"Well the point is, your views of math isn't the same as mine."

"Aww come on! Are you still upset that I didn't decide to take Calculus?" Minka grinned.

"Well you could have atleast tried it!"

"I don't think you should..." Sunil finally spoke up, raising a brow.

"Oh? Why not?" Penny Ling asked.

"It really isn't easy..."

"Yet, you decided to take Stats..." Russell huffed as Sunil smirked.

"Hey! Stats isn't that bad!" Penny Ling remarked.

"It's actually really fun!" Minka added.

"Funner than Calculus? I doubt it." Russell shook his head.

"Ugh. Can we just not talk about math anymore? I've already gotten in trouble for it once already!" Pepper groaned in annoyance. The others looked at their friend with a bit of sympathy. Russell however, formed a slight smile.

"Well, I guess you can say that...this is a sine of a predicament! Eh??" He grinned and began chuckling at his own pun. The others could only groan in annoyance. It wasn't common for their nerdy friend to tell a joke. But when he does, they're not often funny...

"You had to say it!" Minka face palmed herself.

"Seriously? Why a math pun?"  Sunil shook his head.

"It's taking over his brain..." Zoe hissed under her breath.

"I don't get it..." Vinnie blandly remarked.
