"Bye Mum! I'm heading to school now! Love you!"
"Bye sweetie, have fun in school! OH YOU FORGOT YOUR PHONE HONEY!"
"Right. Thanks Mum! And bye!"
A 20 minutes bus ride and I'm here. The driver pulled over and standing at the entrance waiting for me was the ever so excited Amber. She's always full of energy and sometimes I wondered if there were literally ants in her pants. Anyways, seeing her this way somehow made the start of the day slightly better. Less gloomy. I gave her the broadest smile I could muster as I'm not a big fan of school on Mondays.
It's the only day that I have to be in school for a longer period. Who says a good girl can't be tired of school? As we walked along the hallway towards our class, I saw Tyler walking straight here with his squad. My heart was like a speeding train on a rickety track. I felt my face starting to flush. Despite that, he brushed past me as if I was invisible. It felt kind of bitter......and sour too. Winnie! Don't let that get into you. I've got more things to worry and do than to care about him. Urgh. Boys are so annoying and complicated.
"We survived Winnie......now it's the last class before we can go home!"
"Can't wait to be reunited with my bae."
"Bae? Winnie you have A BOYFRIEND?! How come I'm not aware of any of this?"
"Silly. It's my bed."I chortled.
Amber pouted and gave me the look and said,"If you ever get one......don't forget about telling me or else......" Before she could say anything else I dashed down the hallway while looking back at some point to see if she's coming.
"Come back here Winnie Miller! Well at least wait for me!"
OUCH. I ran straight into a wall and stumbled backwards upon entering the class. I rubbed my head and looked up. Uh oh......I realized it was not a wall. OH MY FUDGE.
"Errr......hi Mrs Butterscotch. Sorry about that."
"Winnie Miller get to your seat now! If I ever see you running in the hallway again I guess it's detention for you dear."
Can class be over already? I sighed. I went to my seat and much to my surprise, Tyler was already seated.
"Class, please flip your textbook to pg77."
"Mrs Butterscotch! I left it at home!"exclaimed Tyler.
"You may want to share with Winnie."
Tyler glanced over to me and smirked. Gosh, I wished I could punch him right in the face to wipe that irksome face of his off! SO INFURIATING!
"She said we had to share Winnie......"he winked. You ignored me in the hallway much earlier on and now? Winking and acknowledging my presence? I've had enough of Tyler. If only there was a 'delete' button that could erase him from my brain. One of the few reasons I hate boys.
One day, they come into your life and be nice to you. Then the very next moment, they turn your life upside down and deciding it's no fun anymore. And left. That's it. Game over girl. The girl then loses hope on love just like that. Maybe it's just me. Maybe that's why I'm still single. Maybe I'll die a lonely death......Time passed and it's a few minutes left till the end of class.
"Alright class, listen up. For this Maths assignment you'll be partnered up. Pair work."
A chance to get away from Tyler. Finally, I've been waiting for this. I could pair with Amber! Things aren't so bad after all! Lady luck is finally......shining on me......?
"But there will be absolutely no choosing of partners. Your partner will be the one that's beside you. This will be due next week so no excuses of not doing it! Class dismissed!"
Lots of people flocked out of the class, leaving a few in the class. Still seated, I'm at loss of words all of a sudden. WHAT TERRIFIC NEWS. Great. Just great. How about being a rebel and not doing it? No can't do. I need my marks......hmm......how about......
"Beep.Bop.Beep......"
"HEY! What are you doing with my phone!"
"Well we're partners. Hence, we need to do the work together. So I'll text or maybe call you up when I'm free. Ciao."he shoved the phone right in my hand before leaving. How rude.
"Woah Winnie did he just gave you his number?"Amber smiled goofily.
"Let me check......nope. I wonder what he's up to."
"Let's just go home for now Amber."
Guess I have to wait for him to text or call before I could do the assignment. What else could I do? Me and my rotten luck. Lady luck must've tripped and fell while making her way to me.
