[Winnie's POV]
I groaned as I stretched myself upon hearing the loud banging. Wait, what time is it now? I reached over for my phone and clicked on it. 12:11pm. Who could be at the door making a ruckus at this timing? The neighbours needed sleep and so do I. Can't the person have more consideration? But really though, who's at the door? I got out of bed and slowly creeped downstairs. The knocking seemed to had died down. To be safe, I think I should grab something as a weapon. I took a broom as I was making my way to the door. My heart was pounding really quickly. Okay, what's the plan Winnie? Open and attack?
I opened the door and was met with a pair of eyes. I started hitting the person and tried closing the door back. But a hand came out fast enough to block me from closing it.
"It's me."
This voice. I gently reopened the door. He had his gazed fixed on me. I shifted my eyes to look somewhere else before crossing my arms, in hoping to be more intimidating and cold.
"Why are you here?"
"I need to talk to you."
"I don't think we have anything to talk about." He tried to reach out for my hand but I took a step back.
"Why are you being like this?"
"You should know better."
"Winnie......" He took a step forward, making my muscles tensed up. With a thumb on my chin and a finger underneath it, he tilted my head up to meet his eyes.
"Look at me." His thumb gently on my skin, moving back and forth.
I hate to say it but I kind of miss his touch. A touch that could send an adrenaline rush down my body. A touch that could send me feeling not just the butterflies but the whole frickin zoo in my stomach. A touch that make me feel like...... Winnie stop. I brushed off all the thoughts that I had. I shouldn't be thinking about it anymore.
I took his hand off and a look of disappointment washed over his face.
"I thought I've made it clear enough to you in my text."
"I don't understand. Why do you want us to end like that? If you're not giving me a good reason, I'm not gonna accept it. Never over my dead body."
"Just face it. We're not suitable."
"We're not suitable?" He scoffed.
"That's like the typical excuse anyone would've given. Was that the best reason you had?"
"I just don't feel the same way for you anymore."
"I'm not a three year old kid. You think I would buy that sort of story?" He closed the gap between us. My hands started getting clammy. He leaned in, our lips mere inches before touching.
"Scared? Seems to me your feelings for me still hasn't changed a bit." He whispered in my ear.
"W-why would I be? Didn't I make myself clear enough? I. DON'T. LIKE. YOU. In fact, I'm starting to hate you." I raised my voice.
"Kiss me."
"Why should I?"
"Why shouldn't you? Unless you're still......"
I gave a small quick peck on his lips.
"There, I've proven it. Now leave me alone." I tried closing the door but he gripped onto the door strongly, stopping it from happening.
"Seriously, just leave me alo–"
My words were instantly cut off by his lips that almost made me stumble backwards. Registering what was happening, I pushed him off. But it wasn't enough. He cupped my cheeks and crashed his lips onto mine once again, putting in more force this time. I tried to break it but he kept coming in for more. Hitting his arms and kicking him, nothing seemed to work.
Soon enough, he broke the kiss. With his hands still on my cheeks, he locked his eyes with mine while breathing heavily. I looked away. He dropped his hands back to his side and sighed.
"It's late. You should leave." With that, I closed the door and headed straight to my room.
[Tyler's POV]
I sat down on the porch with my back leaned against her door. Our eyes don't lie. And her eyes gave her away. She's still there. The Winnie whom I knew and love. I'm sorry for not being honest with you. I'm sorry to have hurt your feelings. I'm sorry. Really really sorry.
I couldn't bring myself to tell you. Cause I didn't know how you'll take it. You don't know what it's like to have your Brother dying in replace of you.
[Flashback]
"Pass me the ball Chris!""Here it comes!"
New house and environment but what's important was there's a lawn. Bigger than the one we had back then.
"I love this new house!"
"Yeah me too......"
"Why are you so sad Chris?"
"I miss Winnie. I wouldn't be able to play with her. She'll feel lonely......"
"Don't be sad. We'll meet her soon."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Ball is coming!"
"Got it!"
"Your turn Tyler!"
"Ahhh I missed! I'll go get the ball!"
The ball had rolled onto the road. I walked over to the middle of the road and picked it up. That's when things started going wrong.
A loud repetitive honking could be heard. I turned my head and my jaw dropped. In an instant, I was pushed aside. Tyres screeched and a body was sent flying in the air. Shivering, I limped over slowly to the body. Blood. Blood was everywhere.
"CHRIS!!"
My Mum rushed over and kneeled down. She held his head and started weeping.
"Please be okay Chris......"
"HELLO PLEASE SEND AN AMBULANCE OVER NOW! RIGHT NOW! MY SON HAS MET WITH AN ACCIDENT! HURRY!"
I was still in shock about everything. It happened way too quickly. It's hard for me to take it in.
The next thing I knew, my Dad dragged the driver out from his car and grabbed him by the collar.
"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING?! HOW COULD YOU RUN DOWN A KID? THAT'S MY SON FOR GOD SAKE!"
"I'm so–oo–ry. I–I......"
"SORRY? YOU THINK A SORRY CURES EVERYTHING? HOW ABOUT THIS?!"
He punched the driver squarely in his jaw. The driver fell backwards and held onto his jaw. The sirens are nearing. My head's spinning like mad. Patches of black could be seen in front of my eyes. And soon, total black.
