Chapter 11 - Forbidden Apple

The scenery was dark. 

Black, everything was black. 

As Ruki continued to walk, he couldn't see anything. He looked around but nothing. 

"Where am I?" He asked and then...

...Ruki...

Someone called him. Ruki immediately looked behind him. "Who's there?!" But he found nothing. No one was there. But the voice sounds familiar to him. As he was busy looking the owner, a light suddenly appeared and it shone brightly causing him had to covered his eyes with his hand. When the light was gone, he slowly opened his eyes and looked towards it and he found... A tall man with topaz hair color and a pair of black eyes standing in front of him. He was wearing plain white shirts and light brown pants. He knew that person.

"Adam...?"

"It's been a long time, Ruki" Adam greeted him warmly. True, Ruki met him when he was trying to saved Janne from Eve and he never appeared again since then. "...Are you all right?" He asked, confusing Ruki.

"Wh-What do you mean?" Ruki asked back.

"You know what I meant. You already know about the legendary King and Queen. You already know Janne is the current Queen, but...you're still doubting the King. And also, you're upset because you can't be her King" Adam stated. Hearing him said that causing Ruki to let out a long sigh. He couldn't lied to himself and to Adam. He couldn't denied the fact that Kino probably the current King, but still...

"I...I don't know what to do. Some part of me is happy because of Janne's words that she doesn't care about King and Queen and still choose me in the end, but the other half..." He looked away. "I'm...worried"

"You're worried because of that man sudden appearance in front of Janne" Adam said as Ruki did not said anything to him. "Ruki, I watched over Janne for quiet time and I know about Kino. His presence affected greatly to Janne's life. He was the one who stayed by her side when her parents were not by her side. Do you want to know the reason of why the King haven't awakened fully?" 

"Why is it?" Ruki asked.

"It's because Janne-the Queen is disoriented" Adam said.

"Disoriented? Why?"

"You see?  She might be in love with you, but you shouldn't forget that Janne was indeed loved Kino back then. And even though she's with you now, half of heart still thinking about him. She might be not said it to you but her heart couldn't lie. Some part of her...still loved him. The King is not just someone who obtained the Queen's blood but he also hold her heart. For now, Janne gave her heart to you but she still...think about him too" Adam explained. Ruki was not too surprised hearing his explanation. His words proved when Janne reunited with Kino. The man might be left her before but Janne still hoping him to returned. In his theory, if Ruki dared to left her-Janne might be returned to Kino and he did not want that but again, will that made Janne happy? Was Janne destined to be with Kino since she was born?

No.

Gizelle told him before that Janne and Ruki were destined to be together forever. He knew Gizelle, she will never lied to him. In his mind, this probably another trial that he had to faced so he could obtained Janne fully to him.

"...Adam?"

"Yeah?"

"Is there a chance for me to have her in my arms fully?" Ruki asked. Adam knew he was serious. He knew Ruki loved Janne more than anyone else. He knew what to do so they can be together. He wouldn't let his legacy fall in to the wrong hands. He then closed his eyes and concentrated. Ruki glanced towards him and moments later, Adam raised his hand a light appeared in his hand and popped out something.
