Chapter 19 - The Broken Queen

Dark.

Everything was dark.

Nothing.

Couldn't hear anything.

Where was she?

She was there, sitting on the bed. 

But...

Only the body.

The soul was gone. Trapped inside her heart.

Two days after the incident, the horrible incident, Janne was brought to Kaito's house. As her only remaining relatives that she had, Kaito was responsible to take care of her until she get better. Even though no one she will get better really soon. 

After the funeral which being held yesterday, Janne...did not shown any emotion at all. Along the funeral, she was just staring at the coffins. Six coffins. Her parents. Her three siblings and her butler. They were only buried the coffins but not the people. The people who should be inside the coffin, were not there.

They were gone...to the burning fire.

Only their ashes remaining.

As Janne was sitting in the bed, staring blankly to nowhere-Kaito always watched over her. Since she came with him after the funeral, no words ever out from her mouth. Like she was trapped inside her heart. Again.

"This is just the same when she lose Aruto" Izumi stated.

"Yeah..." Kaito nodded. True, when she killed Aruto four years ago--Janne also closing her heart to everyone. Refuse to accept the reality but back then... Jin was the one who pulled her back from the darkness. But, he didn't even know whether his words will reached her now. After hearing everything from Kino and the rest of the Mukami's brothers, they knew exactly on what happened to Janne. She wasn't just lose her family.

But Ruki as well.

"If Ruki's here, he might be able to help her. But--"

"Stop it, Hino. That brat is useless now. He betrayed her and there's no way he could saved her" Jin said it coldly. None of them could countered his words. They knew Ruki will be able to get her out from her darkness, but with his current situation--they knew it will be useless. "Our main concern now is Janne. Forget about Ruki, we will handle this by ourselves" Jin said and walked towards Janne, sitting beside her.

Since yesterday, Jin always stayed by her side. Talking to her about anything. Hoping his words will reached her. Hoping she will gave him some reaction. But nothing. She did not even moving and remained there like a statue. Her beautiful brown eyes which being loved by everyone became dark and empty, like a dead man's eyes. 

No light.

No emotion.

Nothing.

The Janne that they knew. The Janne that they loved.

Gone.

They tried everything. Giving her favorite foods. Showing her pictures. But no reaction came out from the girl. Jin then dropped his head to her shoulder and looking very worried. "How long are you going to be like this, Janne? Are you going to be like that time? Remained silent like a doll. Does my voice will never reach you anymore?" Nothing. No response from the girl. He hold her hand, hoping his touch will reached her. "Talk to me, Janne. Anything. Say something so I will know you were still there. Janne..." He hold her hand tightly and brought her closer to his hold.

The view hurt them. 

Eiji only looked at their figures and walked away from the door. Izumi looked very sad and Kaito looked...depressed. He never imagined Janne will lose her family this fast, and her whole family. He knew there was someone behind all this. But what were their motives? There were no single person who hold a deep grudge towards Janne or even her family. Her family were known by the neighbors as the most kindest and gentlest family they had ever encountered.
