Chapter 8 - The end of the Parade, the Beginning of the Reunion

"Oniichan! Help me!" The young child shouted as loud as she can. She was drowning on the lake as she struggle to keep her body float. She could feel herself almost drown and hoping the man will came to helped her. 

"Janne!" Someone called her. She knew that voice very well, unfortunately because she swallowed too much water-Janne slowly lost her conscious and stopped moving. He could see the girl was drowning and he immediately jumped to the lake. He grabbed her hand and swam back to the surface. He walked out from the water while carrying her conscious body and then put her down to the ground. "Janne!" He called her, but no response. He closing his ear to her mouth, tried to hear her breathing but he found nothing. He tilted her head back and pinched her nose and gave her air through the girl's mouth. Then, he pushed down her chest. Still not found any single breath, he gave her air again, and then... 

The girl was suddenly coughing rather bad, he immediately picked her body and rubbed her back. "Janne!" Janne grabbed his sleeve, like she was scared he will be gone in instant if she let him go. "It's okay, Janne. You're okay, I'm here"

"...Th--Thank you, Ki--oniichan" He let out a long sigh. Felt very relieved the girl he cared about was saved.

"Thank goodness I got here fast. How come you fell down?" He asked, worriedly.

"I was...looking at the baby goose. It was cute and Janne want to play with it. I tried to reach him, but..."

"And that's why you fell?" He asked but Janne did not answer. "Good grief. You scared me. Once I heard your screaming, I immediately rushed here. Just don't ever do that again. Can you promise me, Jinny?" He asked.

"...Un. I promise"

"Good girl" He gave a light kiss on her lips, made her face flaming. He chuckled over her reaction. "You're really cute, Jinny. By the way, can I have my reward too for saving you? It's already my meal time this week. But of course, I won't force you now. I know you're still weak because of earlier" He requested but Janne shook her head.

"Nope. I'm okay. Jinny already promised to oniichan"

"But--"

"I'm okay. Please, oniichan" She hold him, prevented him to reject her.

"...okay" He tilted her head, revealing the girl's slender neck. Just by looking at it, he couldn't hold his thirst. "Don't worry, Jinny. I won't take too much. But of course... You should prepare yourself when you grown up" As he said that, he shown his sharp fangs and ready to pierced through her skins and then...

"Janne!" She could hear someone was calling her. She opened her eyes and realized Janne was in Ruki's hold. She looked up at him and met his dark eyes.

"Ruki..?"

"Are you all right? What are you doing?" Ruki asked her. She did not answered as she was looking around her. They were still in the fountain with Ruki carrying her. It seems before Janne could hit her head to the floor, Ruki was on time to saved her. The incident suddenly reminded her to the event in the past. She remembered she had an exact experience before and again, it triggered her memory."Janne?"
