Right after Kino left him, Ruki walked back towards the castle.
Let's see if you're not gonna betrayed her
He recalled back his words. He won't do anything to Janne, especially betraying her. He thought Kino was testing him. He wanted to know whether Ruki will strong enough to take on every insults that Kino gave to him because whenever Ruki let off his guard, he knew Kino will steal Janne away from him in instant and he will not let that happened.
"Hm? Janne?" Ruki caught her figure, she was waiting for him. Right after she listened to his voice, Janne immediately went towards him.
"Are you alright?" She asked worriedly. He loved on how Janne cared and worried about him. He loved every single of her attention she gave to him.
"I'm fine" He answered.
"...Did he said anything?" She asked. Kino did said something but Ruki thought to not let her know. He did not want to made Janne more worried about him again. He wrapped his arms around her, bringing her more closer.
"It's nothing to worry about. Don't worry, I will not let him get close to you" Ruki stated. He swore to himself that he won't let anyone, especially Kino to take her away from him. He knew Kino was serious to get her back. He just didn't know the exact reason of why Kino suddenly returned and wanted Janne again. He thought maybe there was another reason behind his action, the only thing he could concluded...was how he still loved Janne. He maybe abandoned her ten years ago, but that doesn't mean he already abandoned his feeling towards her.
"Um, Ruki..?" She called breaking his thoughts. He looked straight at her eyes, he loved those gazes-gentleness could be seen from her beautiful brown eyes. He wanted her to always smiled happily like nothing was wrong in the world. He will do anything so her smile won't disappeared from her. Ruki then gently caressed her cheek and smiled at her. He could see the girl was blushing, just a small touch from him capable to made her to blushed like that. In instant, he connected his lips to hers. Janne was confuse at the beginning, but she let him in the end.
Janne was also the same. She loved Ruki so much and she did not want to lose him, possibly she loved him too much. But...every time her mind stuck on Kino, she couldn't lie to herself that even though he abandoned her ten years ago-she did not...hate him. She was shocked. She felt betrayed but she did not had any grudge towards him. Maybe she should thanked him, because if he did not left her that time, Janne won't reunite with Ruki a year ago. The man who she considered very handsome and cool for the first time they met seventeen years ago. Janne never voiced her feelings, but she never thought that she will met Ruki again.
As both of them pulled themselves, Ruki once again pulled Janne back to his embrace. Like it sounded I will never let you go. You're mine. You belong to me and so on. Even though his body temperature was lower than her, she loved his hold. Cold yet warm and protective. As they wer trapped on each other's hold, Ruki could sense something wrong from outside the castle and he gently withdraw himself from Janne.
"Ruki? What's wrong?" He did not answer, he was like trying to figure out what's going on. And then...
"Ruki!!!" Yuma suddenly appeared from the stairs, surprising Janne and Ruki.
"Yuma? What's wrong?" Ruki asked him.
"You should see it from upstairs, come on!" Yuma said and Janne with Ruki immediately followed him from behind. When they reached the room, all of them were looking outside the window and the atmosphere was very tense as Janne and Ruki walked towards the window. "There" Yuma pointed outside and Ruki couldn't help himself to feel very surprised about it. Multiple vampires were gathered in front of the gate while they were shouting to find out the new King.
