After 2 years
I've been so busy with my restaurant's expansion. Yes, I do already have 3 branches and another one is coming up next month. I love food! As in! And also serving people. I am planning to have a coffee shop though. Hmmm cafe bar kaya?
Every time I would think of expanding the restaurants I inherited from my mom, I remember him. He was always the one telling me to spread my restaurants. To have it known all over the country.
When he broke up with me...
I did follow him in the States. I was watching him from afar. And yeah, he was with someone. Someone named Maxine. His ex. Three days. Tiniis ko ang three days na sundan siya kahit na ang kasama niya noong mga araw na iyon ay si Maxine. Yes, I limit myself na three days lang. I tried, I wanted to approach and beg him to come back to me pero narealize ko na wala na akong karapatan kasi wala na kami. Damn it! Kaya ko. Kaya kong tiisin ang long distance relationship basta siya lang hihintayin ko pero... wala na. He ended us that easy. After a week, that's it. I left and went home.
Masaya naman ako ngayon. Masaya ako dahil napalago ko pa ang restaurants na naiwan ni Mom. Pero minsan, I can't help to think if I am really that happy.
"Best! Hoy! Kanina pa kaya kita tinatawag! Tulala ka na naman." My best friend, Marie said.
"Sorry na. I was just thinking of having a coffee shop."
"Adik ka na. Dami mo gusto! You're already there best! Relax ka muna."
I just nodded and smiled. Talo talaga ako sa best friend ko.
"Best! By the way, Krizzie went here daw kanina! But wala ka pa. She told me na may party daw sila Ate Jerika! It's her birthday next week! Welcome back party din par-"
She stopped. I don't know why baka napagod magsalita.
Krizzie is the girlfriend of his best friend. We're close actually! Friends kaming tatlo ni Marie. Tres Marias.
"Fine. Come with me. I'll buy gift for Ate Jerika."
"Best. Ok na ba sayo pumunta doon? I mean, syempre, matagal tagal na din right? Iniinvite ka naman doon madalas eh! Ayaw mo lang! Arte! Ang bait talaga ng family ni Creed. Hahahahahaha."
Baliw talaga tong babaeng to. Gusto ko siya sampalin but I controlled myself. I don't want any emotion to come out made of him. I wanted to be as blank as possible pag siya na ang usapan. I don't wanna look and sound bitter.
"Yup. I'm good now, Marie. I miss Ate Jerika too kaya we'lle go."
That's all I managed to say.
"What if nandon si----"
The loud ringing of my phone cut her off.
Unregistered number.
"Hello?"
No one's speaking. Ano ba to!
"Helloooooo?"
I heard a sigh.
at sa inis ko, I dropped the call.
