Killian Jones

Part 19

  I woke up the next morning still in Killian's arms. It feels nice to be in his arms. I see Trevor walk into view, he shoots me a glare. What's his problem? I think to myself.

  "Who are you glaring at lad?" Asks Killian in a husky and groggy tone. Hearing him like that gave me goosebumps.                                    

  "Oh... Uh I wasn't meaning to glare." He says putting on a fake smile. It didn't fool me though, I can see right through the fakeness.

  "Then why were you?" Asks Killian as he stands up. I stand up too and stretch. Sleeping on the ground doesn't feel to good.

   "I... just remembered... that... Nate... stole some of my loot. Yeah and when we get back I'm going to have to kick his ass."

   "Well it looked like you were glaring at Desiree. And I won't allow that." says Killian.

   "Aye." says Trevor.

   "Let's get going. And don't think for a second that I believe Nate stole your loot. He has a stash hidden somewhere." Says Killian. Trevor and I nod. Killian pulls out the map and starts walking. Trevor and I follow. After a few minutes I start to walk slower and so does Trevor. We let Killian get a little ways ahead of us.

   "I know you were lying Trevor. Why all of a sudden are you mad at me?" I ask. "You said that you were married to Joshua right?"

   "Yes I was. But what..."

   "I did a lot if thinking last night after I saw you and captain sucking faces. I want to know why you are all over the captain? That doesn't seem very fair to Joshua."

   "Trevor, Joshua died two almost three years ago. I still love Joshua, I even had his child until he was killed And I still love my child too. But my heart is allowing me to love again."

   "You had Joshua's child?" He asked.

   "Yes. He looked just like Josh. His name was Shane." I paused for momoment. "You were an uncle. And so was Weston. I think Weston was behind Josh's death. So that's why I need you to try and talk to him. He's gone power hungry."

   "I... Still need a little more time. I'm sorry. For being angry at you. I didn't know you had Joshua's son."

   "Its alright Trevor. You have until we reach the Jolly Roger to decide, but just know if we don't do something then Weston will kill you too. Just like every other priate he gets his hands on."                                                                                           

  "Aye... I mean right. Sorry I'm so use to speaking like a pirate."

  "Its okay, I'm used to it." I say. Killian looks back at us.

  "Why are the two of ya way back there!?" he asks.

  "We're just talking!" I say. I turn back to Trevor. "Let's catch up before he leaves us behind."

  "Aye." he says. We start jogging to catch up with Killian. Once we do we start walking along with him. A few minutes later Killian stops, making Trevor and I stop too. I look at what Killian is looking at, its a cave.

  "The treasure of Jacqueline." says Killian.

  "Jacqueline?" I ask.

 "Yes. She was the first female captain. She was also the most feared, she was ruthless. But she was also a hoarder, she hid all of her loot where no one could find it. But alas she was caught and hung a few years ago. But she knew she'd get caught, she created a map leading to her treasure. And anyone who dares to search for it is said to be a fool." he says.

  "So why are we here? What's going to happen?" asks Trevor.

  "Well we're gonna go in and find the treasure." says Killian. I take the map from him and find where the cave is on it. And the name of the cave didn't make things any easier.

  "The cave of deadman's misery? That doesn't sound to welcoming." I say as Killian takes the map out of my hands.

  "What!? Why are we going in there!? We could end up dead!" says Trevor freaking out.

  "Quit being such a baby Trevor." I say.

  "I'm not..." he starts.

  "Stop being a coward and let's go." says Killian. He starts walking into the cave, I take a couple step and stop. I turn to Trevor, he looks like a frightened child. I roll my eyes and grab the front of his shirt and pull him along. When he was walking on his own and it was to far to turn back I let go of his shirt.

  "See it's not that bad." I say. The next thing I know a bat flies a little too closer for comfort causing me to scream.

  "What's wrong Desiree!?" asks Killian while turning around. I'm breathing heavily trying to regain my composure.

  "I'm fine. A bat just flew a little too close to me."

  "And you told me to stop being scared." says Trevor.

  "Hey I was attacked by a bat when I was four." I say.

  "How?"

  "One of my maids were cleaning out an old room on the third floor and a bat was living in there. Let's just say now I have a little fear of bats." I say.

 "Wow." says Trevor. We started walking again. While we walked is was unbearably quite. I was about to say something when Killian stopped. There were three tunnels that branched to the left, to the right and down the middle.

  "Hmm... well this is... something." says Killian.

  "Which way do we go?" asks Trevor.

  "We go left." says Killian.

  "How do you know?"

  "Because I'm the captain. I know how a captain thinks."

  "Well I say we go right. Because it's the 'right' way." says Trevor. I shake my head at the to idiots. I grab the map from Killian and look at it. It the top left corner were words.

  "To the East lies a horrifying a beast, to the West surely isn't the best, to the North is were you should go forth." I read aloud.

  "So neither one of us were right." says Trevor.

  "Next time look at the map." I say.
