taehyung; he looked wearier than usual. did he get enough sleep? jeongguk began to worry when he saw taehyung's seemingly cheerful expression when he brought him a gift for their anniversary.

he couldn't resist to ask, "taehyung? you look tired. did you force yourself awake for this anniversary?"

taehyung looked at him with furrowed eyebrows and laughed, "no, i just couldn't sleep because i was so excited!"

jeongguk didn't laugh or smile. instead, he crossed his arms and observed the red haired boy's pale complexion and the dark bags under his eyes. "taehyung, please don't challenge yourself to the point where you don't get sleep."

"what? no, it's nothing like that. i just think a lot, really." he was lying, partially. it was true that his brain constantly gave him things to think about but everything revolved around his 'plans' and whether he'd be able to cope while enforcing these 'plans' to his life.

jeongguk sighed, unwilling to press more questions onto taehyung. "come in." he muttered, making way for his visitor to enter his colossal of a house.

"jeongguk, i don't want you to worry, okay? i'm fine, i really am."

"i'll believe you, okay? i don't want my worry to disturb our anniversary," jeongguk forced a smile to his lips, trying his best to forget his concerns. "i also have something special to give you." he took out a carefully wrapped box and instructed taehyung to open it carefully. inside was his favorite piece of art; famous Ryan McGinley's photograph entitled "Escape Into Life." taehyung grew excited, his tiredness vanishing. he carefully set the photograph onto the couch and pulled jeongguk into a heartfelt hug.

in taehyung's gift for jeongguk were sets of paint brushes and paints. it was simple but jeongguk adored it. taehyung knew that if his boyfriend wasn't singing, dancing, or writing music, he would be painting whatever appeared in his head.

anyway, i didn't really know Ryan McGinley before i found out that he is taehyung's favorite photographer. i must say that his pieces are so spiritual and they calm me down. 💞
