***Melanie's P.O.V***
A cold chilling fear ignited my body when I heard the names of the people at the door. Calum, Michael, Luke, they were best friends with Ashton.
"Melanie, come out, come out!" Calum almost sang, calling me forth. The boys gave me nervous looks, as I slowly walked towards the door, Harry stopping me so I didn't get too close.
"Get the hell out of here." Harry hissed.
"Aw, didn't you miss us, Mel?" Luke mocked.
"No. Why are you here?" I asked nerves knotting in the pit of my stomach. Harry grabbed my hand, as the boys smirked at me, Michael laughing slightly.
"Ashton is in prison," Luke began. "any idea why that might be babe?"
"Because he deserves to rot." I stated calmly.
Calum shook his head in shame, giving me the most sinister stare humanly possible.
"Ah the contraire." he tutted. "Harry belongs in prison."
"No he doesn't! If you miss that prick so badly you can go to prison with him for all I care!" I spat.
"Now that would make our task rather difficult." Michael smirked. Harry stepped forward, ready to rip their heads off, mad that they were harassing me, but I held him back.
"What task?"
"Do you remember a few years back, you were sent anonymous letters , always signed by 'phantom of your heart'?" he asked.
"Y-yes.." I mumbled anxiety building up inside me as the memories of all those creepy letters being sent to me. Every day I would receive letters from some stranger, claiming he loved me, and would get me one day, and there was always a single red rose.
"Ashton sent them." he stated.
"Wh-what? No." I shook my head, refusing to accept the man I had once feared, was the exact same man I ran to when I was frightened.
"Yes." he laughed. "Ashton knew it would scare you, scare you enough to go running into his arm for comfort. Gave him the chance to earn your trust, get close to you, and get you." he smirked.
"You're lying." I gasped.
"Get the fuck off my property!" Harry boomed, pushing me behind him, as I peeked over his shoulder carefully.
"Think about it Melanie." Luke spoke up. "Ashton just so happened to turn up to your house, minutes after the letters arrived. He was great at writing, Ashton was obsessed with you."
"No! No no no! Stop it!" I chanted.
"Ashton lusted for you, longed for you, desired for you. Did you really think he would give up after Harry stole your heart?" he scoffed.
My mouth became dry, no words coming out, unable to process what was being said. My head felt like it was going to burst, and I couldn't control it.
"Why so silent babe?" Calum smirked.
"Spit out whatever you want to say, and piss off!" Alex yelled.
"Our message is this, Melanie." Michael began, Calum continuing it
"Ashton is coming for you. No prison can hold him, and he will get him out, mark our words. You can run, but you can't hide. We are watching, we always have been, and we always will be. Enjoy your time with Harry while it lasts, because it won't last much longer."
Harry has lunged for them, but Louis has stopped him, holding him back, knowing violence would make things a lot worse.
"Oh, and Melanie?" Luke smirked.
"Wh-what?" I stuttered.
"This is for you."
With that, they all turned and walked off, handing the item to be. A cold shiver ran down my spine as the item was placed in my hand. My heart had stopped beating, and my entire body was frozen. Harry grabbed me, embracing me in a protective hug, and it fell from my hands, falling to the floor, but my eyes never left it, as that one single, simple thing made my blood run cold and fear and anxiety consume me from the inside out.
