Love Sick

Chapter 9: Suspicion

??? POV

I was walking down the hallway, heading for the rooftop when all the teachers started yelling,

"All students are not allowed to leave! Head to the school gym. Immediately!"

I ran to the gym like everyone else did.

On the stage , was our school counselor Ms. Larika, looking as strict and scary as ever.  Everybody scrambled to get in line. While walking over to my section, I saw Inuyasha running in my direction.

I didn't see him in class this afternoon. Or maybe he was in class and I just didn't notice.

I looked around the room, looking for my two friends from last year, Kagome or Hojo.
I saw Kagome in her class but Hojo was no where to be seen. Hojo was never late...!

'What if something bad happened..?'

I shook my head.

'Maybe I'm just paranoid...'

That first thought was gone but the anxiety didn't stop there.

Inuyasha stopped right next to me as Ms. Larika's voice floated in the gym.

"Before I give my announcement, I want everyone to please be quiet."

Silence filled the gym.

"A second-year student here at Shikon has been reported to be missing. The student happened to be one of Ms. Aishi's students. He didn't attend class this afternoon..."

I glanced at Inuyasha who has a calm demeanor.

'Wait, did he just...smirk? Does he know who that student is...?'

I  glared at him a bit before I looked back at Ms. Larika.

"The student is Akitoki Hojo."
I could feel my blood run cold.

I looked around the gym for everyone else's  reaction. Everyone except three students were shocked. Inuyasha, Kanna , and Onigumo.

'Aren't they the least bit concerned?!'

Ms. Larika spoke again.
"Hojo is still no where to be seen... However, Ms. Aishi did find a puddle of...blood...by the incinerator..."

Some of the students gasped in horror.

"We already contacted the police for an investigation. All students are free to leave."

After that, most of us students decided to go home.

I went to the rooftop to clear my head and process the information. I also let my thoughts take over.

'This place was never creepy...unless you count the Occult Club. But they're harmless.'

It's just two weeks and two people already died!

I'm not stupid. Something seems wrong.

It's not like Hojo would just magically disappear.

And it's not like Kouga would just have an allergic reaction to his own lunch
... and his mother wouldn't poison her own son.

I snapped out of my thoughts when I saw someone walking towards the bench I was sitting on. It was that wolf-demon girl from the Cooking Club.
