"We should talk."

Stiles raised his eyebrows at me, "Well, talk then?"

"I just..." I sighed rubbing my hands together, "I don't want you to get the wrong idea."

"You're not dumping me right? Because like, I've had really short relationships but damn this would be a new record, I didn't think I was that bad of a person." He laughed, I could hear the underlying hurt in his voice though.

"What?" I asked, "No, Stiles, that's not even close to it."

"Than what is it?"

Rubbing my neck, I let out a deep breath, "If you wanted...I was kind of hoping...maybe we could do the mating ritual...and I could maybe claim you...and...yeah."

"You mean, in like a day?" He asked, "You want me to go off with you and leave our pack here, alone, so we can spend the next three days mating?"

"You don't have to if you don't want to, really, it can wait."

"Does this have something to do with that pack that wants me? Is it supposed to help or something?"

I groaned, "See, that's why I didn't want to...yes, it would help. But, that's not why I want to. I've wanted to for a while b-but, I didn't think you'd want to. And now Deaton's all on my case about it because of who knows what reason and I just kind of...I don't know."

"Derek, I don't care but it's kind of shitty timing, don't you think?"

"I know, which is another reason I didn't want to bring it up but it'd help with one part of the problem and I know that Cora's old pack won't pull any shit especially if we're doing the ritual, they're not like that."

"I just...I don't want to leave them to get hurt if we're gone. I-I'm wired to be extra protective now or something and even when they're just at their houses or at school or something I feel this overwhelming need to check in on everyone, I don't...I know they can handle themselves, but...if I'm feeling like this now and we leave them when there's two threats on us, like...I don't think it'd go over well."

I sighed, "No, I get it. It's just, I really don't know what to do right now. A-And this pack, the one that wants you, I don't know what lengths they'll go to try and get to you."

"Der, stop stressing, okay?" Stiles said, hugging me. "Let me talk to Deaton and the pack, we can figure something out. Okay? Just, you need to relax a little."

"Stiles, it's not your job to figure shit out, it's mine. I'm alpha."

"Yeah, and you're bringing up a really big topic so I think that gives me all the right in the world to take over for a bit."

--

"So, Deaton. I hear you're pressuring Derek into things." Stiles said, walking into the vet's office.

"I may have suggested a few things but I wouldn't go as far as pressuring him."

Stiles rolled his eyes, "I have some questions though, because like, I do want to do that with him, which I'm sure you knew which is why you were pressuring him a-"

"Stiles."

"Right, sorry." He sighed, "Anyways, is there any way to make the three day...in to...I don't know...a night?"

Deaton shook his head, "For the actual ritual to be completed it must take place over three days. Before the moon, during the moon, and after the moon."

"Could we just do it at home?"

Deaton nodded, "But, if you're thinking that so you can help the pack if something comes up, you're wrong. That would break the bond happening and you'd have to redo the ritual entirely."

Stiles sighed, leaning up against the table. "But, I can't just...leave them. What if they get attacked?"

"It's highly unlikely that either pack is going to come during the full moon. They both have things to worry about during this time and if I thought it would be bad timing I wouldn't have brought it up to Derek."

"But, how do I know everything will be fine?"

Deaton sighed, "You don't, but you have a strong pack and they'll be able to handle themselves for three days. I promise. If it'll help I can...do a little something, protect the house. You can have them stay there and nothing will be able to happen, okay?"

"I-I guess, I'm just worried."

"You're a Guardian, it's your job to worry."

"Yeah, well I hate it."

--

"Okay. Let's go." Stiles said, walking into Derek's room.

"Go where?"

"Didn't you pick a place for the whole ritual thing? You were supposed to pick a place, I thought you picked a place?" Stiles' heart stopped.

Derek's eyebrows raised, "Woah, calm down, I didn't even know we were doing it? We're doing it?"

Stiles nodded, "I talk to Deaton and I feel better."

"O-Okay, I uh...I'll uh..."

"Get a room." Stiles said. "You're getting a room."

"Yes, that. I'm doing that." Derek said fumbling to find his phone.

Stiles laughed, "You're phones on your dresser."

"Right, yes."

Stiles rolled his eyes climbing onto Derek's bed watching him as he paced back and forth while he was on the phone. With a yawn Stiles laid back on the bed continuing to watch Derek. As soon as Derek got off the phone he grabbed a duffel bag from his closet throwing a few things inside.

Stiles snorted, "You're packing a bag? Aren't we supposed to be naked during this whole thing??"

"No." Derek smirked, "Unless that's what you want."

Stiles climbed off the bed pulling one of Derek's sweater's from the closet, "I want this. Forever. It's mine now." He said holding it to his chest. "Kay, so I'm gonna get something to eat. You pack...and we'll leave after."

"Okay." Derek laughed, pecking the other on the lips.

Stiles smiled rubbing his nose against Derek's and walking out of the room, Derek smiled to himself when he noticed the pink fade out of Stiles' eyes.
