Derek woke up, the sun shining through the window brightening the room. Stiles was snoring softly next to him. He smiled reaching over to get his phone off the bedside table. It was close to eleven and they'd have to leave soon. He set his phone back down and turned to wrap himself around Stiles, his chest pressed to the younger's back. He pressed soft kisses along Stiles' shoulder and up his neck, tracing kisses over the claim mark and sucking slightly on a mole that was just under Stiles' ear. His mate hummed and pushed closer to him.

"I'm sleeping." He said quietly, exhaustion lacing through his words.

Derek kissed his cheek, "Wake up."

Stiles groaned, turning in Derek's arms to push his head under the other's chin. "No."

Derek's fingers danced across Stiles' back and over the marks where his wings came out. His palm traced over the curve of his back stopping just above Stiles' ass. "You feeling better today?"

Stiles yawned, "Not as sore, still hurts a little." A whine rang up through Derek as he started to pull the pain from his mate. "Stop," Stiles grabbed his hand moving it. "I like it. It's a good pain." He smiled, finally opening his eyes to meet the wolf's gaze.

"Are you sure?"

Stiles nodded, "Reminds me that you're mine."

Derek snorted, "I've always been yours."

Stiles rubbed his nose against Derek's turning to get off the bed, Derek pulled him back pressing their lips together.

"I haven't brushed my teeth yet."

"I don't care." He smiled kissing him again.

--

Stiles stood next to Derek, arms wrapped around the older male's arm as he checked out. When it was done Stiles dropped Derek's arm letting him grab their bags and followed him toward the car.

"Can we stop for breakfast?" He called running a little to walk next to Derek.

He chuckled, "Yeah, we can do that."

Stiles smiled climbing into the front seat of the Camaro and slipping his shoes off to sit cross-legged on the seat. Derek climbed in after throwing their stuff in the trunk. "What're we gonna do about those packs...?"

"I don't know." Derek sighed starting the car. "Hopefully the Cambridge pack with just drop it now but I don't know how I'm supposed to convince Cora's old pack that she's safe with me."

"They can't just take her Derek. She's eighteen, she's an adult and can make her own decisions and she's not gonna leave you."

Derek shook his head, "Pack's will do whatever they think is necessary to get someone they want. Especially if they were once pack."

"We'll figure it out." Stiles replied grabbing onto Derek's hand. "OH! Der, Starbucks! Please!!!"

"You're such a pain." Derek laughed pulling into the parking lot and heading toward the drive-thru.

Stiles kissed the back of the other's hand, "But, you loooovvveee me." He teased.

"I do." Derek said glancing at him and looking back in front of them.

Stiles smiled, "I love you, too."

Derek smiled, "What do you want, angel?"

Stiles rolled his eyes, "Is that really gonna be a thing?"

Derek shrugged, smirk stitched to his face.

--

The pack all gathered in the living room when Stiles and Derek got home. Stiles had to make sure nothing happened while they were gone and when he was told that everything was fine his nerves dissipated.

"So, what're we gonna do?"

Derek rubbed his hand over his face letting Stiles pull him down into the armchair next to him and throw his legs over the wolf's lap. "I honestly don't know, Cor."

"What do you mean you don't know?" Isaac asked, "You're alpha, you're supposed to have a plan. You're supposed to know!"

"Is, calm down." Stiles snapped.

"He's just worried Stiles." Derek sighed.

Stiles crossed his arms, "I don't care. He doesn't need to talk to you like that."

"It's fine." Derek said, kissing the others cheek. "I don't know exactly what Cora's old pack wants so I don't have a plan. I'm sure we're just going to sit and talk, at least at first. We'll figure it out from there."

Isaac nodded, "What about Cambridge?"

"We shouldn't have to worry about them."

"Why not?"

Cora laughed, "Cause Derek claimed Stiles so now they can't have him."

"Wait, that's why you went off to do the mating ritual? So another pack couldn't take Stiles away?" Scott said.

"Scott it's not like that," Stiles started.

Scott shook his head, "No, he just did it to keep them away from you and now you're stuck together. Does he even love you?"

Derek growled, moving Stiles' off of him. His eyes glowing red as he stepped closer to Scott. "Don't you dare accuse me of not loving him. He's my mate."

"He better be." Scott snarled, Derek growled more pushing him against the wall.

"Derek!" Stiles snapped, Derek let Scott go.

"Don't ever think I would ask him to do something like that just to save this pack. I'd die before I forced him into anything he didn't want or I didn't truly feel."

Scott nodded, his gaze glued to Derek as Stiles squished between the two. "Fucking hell guys." He said, looking between both of them. He pushed Derek back, "Come on, Sourwolf! Move!"

Derek stopped Stiles, glancing at him, his facial features softening for a moment before he let go and made his way upstairs.

Stiles groaned, "I get you're my best friend and all but do you really think I'd fucking do something that serious with someone I wasn't serious about?"

"I don't know, Stiles!" Scott yelled, "You do a lot of stupid shit!"

Stiles shook his head, "If anyone shows up let me know." He said turning toward Cora and Isaac before following Derek upstairs.

Cora snorted, "You done fucked up," Scott rolled his eyes, "I'm serious Scott, talking to an alpha like that about his mate. Not good on your part. I'm surprised the only thing Derek did was shove you into the wall."

"I didn't do anything." Scott scoffed, "I'm just looking out for my best friend."

Cora shrugged, "I know Derek, I know he wouldn't do anything to hurt Stiles ever. He hasn't loved anyone this much since Paige."

"Yeah? And look how that turned out."

Cora growled, "I'm gonna fucking kill you."

Isaac grabbed Cora's arm, "Cora! Stop!" Cora fought against him, Boyd got up throwing her over his shoulder.

"It's not worth it Cora." Boyd turned to Scott, "Not cool."

Scott rolled his eyes walking away from the other three in the living room.

"What the hell is his problem?" Erica asked walking in with Lydia.

Isaac shrugged, "But he needs to get over himself before it's too late."
