Derek POV
"Hey," I said, walking toward Stiles who was sitting on the couch. He tore his gaze from his laptop to look up at me. "I'm going to the store. Do you need anything?"
"Uh...I don't think so, but thanks." He said with a smile.
I nodded walking out and making my way to the store. That's when it happened.
I walked passed an aisle full of stuffed animals, specifically, teddy bears. I wasn't surprised because Valentine's Day is coming up but something made me stop and pick one up. It looked familiar and I couldn't figure out why. As soon as I picked it up a sharp pain shot through my body making my head pound.
"Derek." The small boy next to me wouldn't shut up. "Derek!" He whined. "Don't be sad!" He frowned. "My daddy said he's gonna help. He's gonna make it better." He started kicking his feet that were hanging off the bench in the hospital.
I rubbed my eyes. "What the fuck." I muttered dropping the bear trying to continue through the store. The pain came back, worse than before.
"You wanna meet my momma!?" The kid said happily. "Come on! She's super nice!" He said jumping off the bench and pulling me up. He dragged me toward one of the hospital rooms and climbed onto the bed next to who I assume is his mom. "Mom! Look! This is Derek!" He said happily. I forced a smile toward her as she greeted me. "Stiles," I turned to see the Sheriff behind me. "Your mother needs to rest, you need to let her. I told you that." He sighed. "I just wanted Derek to meet her." Stiles frowned. His mother hugged him. "And I did, now go, run along." She said softly. "It was nice meeting you, Derek." She smiled toward me. "You too." I said softly.
I groaned holding onto my head. I abandoned the cart full of groceries and made my way back to my car. "Stop." I said resting my head on the steering wheel right before I felt my head explode again.
"Dad!" I sat back on the bench while Stiles followed his dad around the waiting room. "Dad!" He called again. "What, Stiles?" His dad sighed. "Can I have ten dollars?" He asked smiling up at the Sheriff. "Why?" His dad asked. "Just...please! I wanna get something!" He begged. "You need to find somewhere to sit down." His father said sternly. The pale boy groaned "I gotta do something first!" The sheriff sighed handing him a ten dollar bill. "You go sit somewhere. Got it?" Stiles nodded happily before he ran into the little gift shop they had full of flowers and cards and other 'get well soon' gifts. He ran over to me with a small light brown teddy bear. "Here." He smiled. "Why?" I asked. "Because you're sad. And even though you're a big kid...sometimes it helps to hug a teddy bear." He smiled jumping back onto the bench next to me. "Thanks." I sighed seeing him smile.
I walked inside to see the pack gathered by Stiles in the living room. I groaned leaning against the back of the door. I felt my fangs scraping my teeth.
"Derek?" I heard Stiles' voice. It sounded like we were miles apart. The room was spinning. I felt a growl rise up my throat as I climbed up the stairs. Flashes of the fire invading my vision. "Derek!?" Stiles said again. I could hear the pack following me.
"Derek!" I looked up seeing Stiles in front of me. I was in the Sheriff's office at the station now. "Derek, wake up!" He laughed. "My dad got us pizza!" He said trying to pull me off the couch. "I'm not hungry." I groaned. "Derek!" He whined.
"...Derek!" I saw Stiles sitting in front of me in my room. I yelled in pain pushing Stiles as lightly as I could back toward the pack.
Stiles POV
"Hey," I heard Derek. I looked away from my laptop to see him standing above me by the couch. "I'm going to the store. Do you need anything?" He asked.
