(Bryce's POV)
"You must be the new student, correct?" The lady sitting at the desk spoke up.
"Uh, y-yeah, that's me." I answered quietly. She nodded, tapping away at her computer.
"Here," She handed me a slip of paper, "this has your schedule and locker number on it. Have a good first day."
"Thank you." I mumbled, quickly leaving the office and making my way into the hallway. There weren't many people in the hallways, and I let out a small breath of relief. I looked down at the schedule that I now held in my hands. Intro to powers, room 94.
I made my way down the hall as swiftly as I could without bringing attention to myself. I kept my gaze on the floor, hoping to will away any unwanted attention. Unfortunately, that plan flew right out the window as I felt myself collide into somebody else, my books flying out of my arms as I fell backwards. I looked up to see a boy in a grey t-shirt and black jeans getting up off the ground. I quickly looked back down, a blush rising to my cheeks as I rushed to grab my books.
"I-I'm r-really s-sorry. I d-didn't mean to, I w-wasn't watching where I was g-going. I stuttered out. Curse my shy, awkward personality. I stood up after grabbing the last book of mine, and came face to face with the person I had knocked over. His chestnut brown hair was fairly short, and looked as though he had just run his hands through it. His mouth was set in a half smirk, but the strangest thing was that his eyes were hidden behind a grey blindfold type cloth with an omega symbol on it.
"Hey it's fine, don't worry about it." He said. I looked back down once more and noticed the time displayed on my watch. I panicked, noticing that I wad going to be late for class.
Without another word, I rushed past the man, basically running down the halls in an attempt to get there on time. 'Great,' I thought, 'late on the first day, good job Bryce.' I opened the door to the classroom, where the teacher was already beginning the lesson. She turned her head as I opened the door.
"Ahh, Bryce, I'm glad you could join us. Since it's your first day, I'll let you off with a warning." She motioned for me to come next to her, and redirected her attention to the class.
"Class, this is Bryce McQuaid, he's new here. I expect you to help him if need be. Go ahead and sit there next to Jonathon." She pointed to a kid with black hair and a blue hoodie. I walked past the other desks, trying not to think about the amount of stares I was receiving.
"Hey, I'm Jonathon, but everyone calls me Delirious." The kid, Jonathon, held his hand out. I took it lightly, my hand shaking slightly from being the center of attention.
"M-my name is Bryce." I whispered. He gave me a reassuring smile.
"Hey, could I see your schedule? Maybe we have more classes together." Delirious asked. I nodded, handing him my schedule. He looked over it for a moment before handing it back to me.
"Looks like we only have 1st, 4th, and lunch together. But you may be able to see some of my other friends in your other classes. I'll tell em to look for you."
"Thanks" I told him. I may not know this person, but it seemed like he was making a genuine effort to try and make me a bit more comfortable here. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad.
*time skip*
I ended up meeting Delirious' friends Evan, or as they call him, Vanoss, and Brock aka Moo. They told me that there were more of them, most of which I'd meet in gym.
In all honesty, gym was the class I was dreading most. Not only did I have to do things I front of others, but this was a different type of gym class than what I was used to. Instead of classic gym class at normal high schools, this was magic gym class, where we were trained to use our powers. Now the only problem I had besides exercise, was that
