(Bryce's POV)

Light began to filter through my eyes as I slowly regained consciousness. For whatever reason, this felt very similar to the first time I had used my powers. Waking up weak, with very little idea of what actually happened. Life seemed to have a funny way for repeating itself.

"You know, you really need to stop doing that," I heard a voice next to me. I looked up and noticed that Mini was sitting down in a chair beside me. I rolled my eyes, trying to push myself up. Mini noticed and moved to help me, but I instead pulled him into a hug.

"Shut up," I said quietly, pulling away, "it's still good to see you." Mini smiled slightly and sat back down.

"You know, the guys really miss you. I know you don't want to go back, and I didn't think you would, but I thought you'd like to know." I sighed, a thought coming to mind. I wasn't sure I should ask, but the words tumbled put before I could stop them.

"Have you...seen or heard from Ohm?" I asked, lowering my voice. Mini gave me a worried look, but I ignored it. Mini took a deep breath before replying.

"Once, actually. He hasn't been around school lately, but I saw him about 2 weeks ago. I'm not going to lie to you Bryce, he didn't look good. He looked really worn down; he had bags under his eyes and he looked really stressed too. I'm not telling you this to make you feel bad, but I figure it's better that you know how it is." I nodded, a frown forming on my face.

"I know. I just, I don't understand myself sometimes. Like, I know that he did something horrible, especially in regards to me, but I can't help but worry. Not only that, but I feel like...I don't know how to explain it, but I have a gut feeling that something isn't right. With Ohm, with the MA, even with the group Adam has here. There's something more that I must be missing." Mini looked at me with a sigh.

"I know how feel. I mean, obviously I'm not as involved as you are, so I can't say much, but I will say that whatever Ohm did, there was something else behind it," Mini answered. I chewed my bottom lip with worry. I wasn't sure what I was going to do. My head told me to stay as far away from Ohm and the MA as possible, but at the same time, my heart was telling me to go back. To figure out what was really going on. But was that really the best idea? I mean, I experienced firsthand what happened when I went the first time, but I couldn't help but feel the need to go back. I was sent out of my thoughts by a knock at the door.

"Hey Bryce, it's good to see you're alright," Adam said as he entered the room. He glanced over at Mini and then back at me.

"You haven't introduced me to your friend yet Bryce. It's safe to say we were really surprised when he showed up with the two from the MA's base."

"Right, sorry. I would've introduced you sooner, but I was kind of busy being passed out." Mini scoffed at my response.

"Adam, this is my friend Mini, Mini, this is Adam, the person I told you about that was training me," I said.

"Nice to meet you Mini, thanks for not letting him die," Adam said. Mini gave him a nod.

"Anyways, I'm sorry about the way things turned out. If only knew this was how the mission was gonna go I wouldn't have sent you," Adam said, turning back to me.

"Don't sweat it Adam, I probably would've gone anyways. Do you know where Marcel and Cartoonz are now?" I replied.

"I think they're hanging around in the hangout area. I'll leave you for now so that you can go, but I'd like to talk with you later when you have the time." Adam turned to leave, but before he left he looked back.

"Oh, and Mini, feel free to stay as long as you'd like." With that he left the room. As soon as he left, I moved to get up. I was still sore, but Mini came over and helped me up.

"Well Bryce, as much as I'd love to stay, I really need to get back to the school. The others are probably going to start getting worried, especially Tyler. But I'll be sure to tell them you said hi, and that you're alright," Mini said after moving away from me. I nodded, not wanting to fight him.

"Ok. Thanks Mini, really like. You helped a lot back there, I appreciate it. I'll see you soon?" I questioned. He nodded, then turned into a fox and hopped out the open window.

"A bit unorthodox, but whatever floats your boat, Mini," I mumbled. I walked out of my room, immediately heading to the hangout area. It wasn't much, just a few couches to the left of the stairs once you walked in. I could see Marcel and Cartoonz sitting on the couches, talking to each other.

"Glad to see you two made it here safely," I said once I made it over to where they were. The moment I spoke their heads shot up.

"Oh my god, Bryce you're ok!" Marcel exclaimed. I gave a small laugh.

"Believe it or not, this isn't the first time it's happened," I replied.

"First time or no, I've gotta hand it to you. I've never seen anyone fight like that before, especially to save two people they didn't know. What you did really means a lot, thank you," Cartoonz added.

"It was nothing, really. I'm just glad I got you two out of there."

"You and me both," Marcel agreed, "So now that we know you're alive and kickingl, what's there to do around here?"

"Well, there's not much for right now. But if you plan on sticking around, once you're up to full  health, I think some training will be in order,"

-----------------------------------------------------------
Hey guys, I have returned. Sorry that this took so long and that it's not super long. This is more of a filler chapter to prepare for later on, but I hope you guys liked it either way. I'll try to get the next chapter done soon, but I make no promises.

Anywho, I hope you guys enjoyed and I'll see you later.
