(Bryce's POV)
"Tyler, you go first; pick up that stack of metal chairs, but I want you to throw them lightly enough to where they land right there on the 5th bleacher up." Tyler rolled his eyes and pick up the chairs as though they were feathers. Tyler threw them and they landed perfectly on the 5th bleacher.
"Alright, not bad. Evan, create a breeze through here, but only strong enough to knock that stack of empty boxes over in the corner." Evan closed his eyes for a second before opening them again. A breeze waved through the room ruffling my hair, becoming only slightly stronger when I heard the boxes fall over and the wind stopped. The teacher gave an impressed look before turning to Delirious.
"Alright Jonathon, I want you to go invisible. But I want you to do it one body part at a time." Del smirked, his hand disappearing, then his other, then his arms, next his feet, calves, thighs, hips and then stomach, until it was just his head. His head disappeared all at once, and then his body reappeared altogether.
"Ok, and now your force fields. Start with it surrounding you, and slowly expand it over your group." Jonathon's eyes closed, and a light blue bubble appeared around him. Looking down, I saw it slowly growing inch by inch until I felt it pass over me. The bubble stopped and then retracted back into Jon.
"Brian, your turn." The teacher pulled out a small piece of what looked to be copper the size of his palm. He handed it to Brian.
"Now take this, and I want you to concentrate on shaping it into something else, one bit at a time." Brian took the copper, holding it in one hand. I watched as it slowly began to change its shape. The top rounded, and the edges molded individually. When it was done, I couldn't help but show a small smile. It was a cheeseburger. The others gave a laugh.
"Really Brian? A cheeseburger?" Brock asked.
"What, I'm hungry." He joked. I noticed that he had an Irish accent.
"Alright, Brock, your turn." The teacher pulled out what looked to be a pocket knife. He made a small cut across the top of his arm. It wasn't deep enough to be worrying, but that still creeped me out. The wound was bleeding slightly.
"Brock, heal this, but do it to where it slowly stitches back up." Brock walked up and took the teachers arm in one hand and used the other to hover over it. There was a flash of white light and then the cut slowly closed itself. Brock pulled away and it was as though the wound never existed.
"Alright." His eyes scanned over the group, and I prayed that he wouldn't see me. I attempted to try and make myself smaller. But of course luck wasn't on my side.
"You, what's your name?" The teacher asked, pointing at me.
"My name is Bryce." I told him. I could already feel my breathing begin to pick up and my heart clench. Oh god, not now please.
"What's your power kid?" He asked me. I swallowed harshly, trying with all my might to keep my breathing normal and my heart rate the same.
"W-well th-the thing i-is, I-I-I," I paused; now hyperventilating. "I d-don't have th-them." My voice was barely above a whisper. But I knew that they heard it. I knew, because I could hear the gasps and surprised sounds. That's what pushed me. I didn't want to be the outcast, the one that didn't have powers, the odd one out. I couldn't take it looks. I was now shaking uncontrollably and I was having a hard time breathing. This wasn't what I wanted to happen. Why, why of all times did I have to get a panic attack now? Without a second thought I turned and bolted out of the gym door. I found a bathroom relatively quickly and locked myself in one of the stalls. I pushed myself into the corner and wrapped my arms around my legs, putting my head down on my knees. I felt tears race down my cheeks and I couldn't get in a proper breath. I was too preoccupied with my thoughts and tears that I didn't hear the bathroom door open.
"Bryce?" I heard Brock's voice, "Bryce, would you please open the door?" I could tell that he was trying to make his voice soft but firm. I still couldn't breathe properly and tears fell from my eyes, but I weakly crawled over and unlocked it before scuttling back into the corner.
Moo opened the door slowly, dropping down to my level. He opened his arms slightly, and I reached to hug him, my tears soaking through his shoulder. I felt something warm touch my head; my breathing gradually went back to normal and my tears stopped. I stayed for a second before moving back from him.
"Better?" He questioned. I gave a small nod.
"Thank you." I whispered. He smiled. I looked up and noticed that the rest of the guys were standing there
"So, you think you're ready to explain?" Tyler asked. Del hit the back of his head.
"It's alright, I can tell you guys. First of all though, I'm sorry you guys had to see me like that. It's been a while since I've had one. Anyways, sorry I ran out. I just, freaked out thinking you guys may not want to be around me if you knew I didn't have my powers yet. I know, it's silly, but it's happened before. I just feel pathetic compared to you guys when you all have your powers and know how to control them so well." I turned my head away, waiting for their ridicule.
That never came.
They gathered around me, making a giant group hug.
"Don't worry Bryce, we're not like that. We'll support you; maybe we could even help you find your power." Evan said. The others murmured in agreement. They pulled away and I gave them a grateful smile.
"Thank you guys." I told them.
"Of course. Now let's go eat!" Brian said. We all agreed and made our way to the cafeteria. I'm just so glad I found these guys.
**
"Hey, could you guys show me where my dorm is?" I asked them. They began leading me through the building.
"Craig should be back now too, so you'll get to meet him." Tyler said. The guys stopped outside of the room. I took my key out and opened the door quietly. I watched as a guy with curly brown hair and glasses danced around the room singing Animal by Neon Trees. Tyler walked into the room, right by where Craig was now moving with his eyes closed.
"CRAIG!" Tyler suddenly shouted. Craig let out what seemed like the girlie st scream I'd ever heard and jumped backwards. I had to admit, even I was dying of laughter.
"TYLER YOU PRICK!" Craig exclaimed once he'd calmed down enough to realize that it was just Tyler. Tyler was wheezing so bad that he couldn't answer. Craig let out an angry huff.
"How did you even get in here, I locked the door." Craig turned to the door and everyone pointed to me.
"Uh, hi, my name is Bryce." I told him. He sat in confusion for a second before he made the connection.
"Oh, that's right. You're the new kid, and my new roommat. Nice to meet you."
"Alright fuckbois, let's get this party started." Tyler said.
