(Bryce's POV)
*one month later*
I walked down the stairs of the warehouse, the iron colored walls passing in a blur. Adam believed that I was finally though with my training, and he said that he had something important that he needed me to do. I walked past the couch where I saw that Max was sitting down. I gave him a small wave as I walked into the dining room that doubled as the planning room. Adam was pacing near the front of the table when I entered.
"Ah, Bryce, you're here. Let's get started shall we?" He motioned for me to take a seat. I pulled out a random chair and sat down, nerves eating at me. As happy as I was to get out of this warehouse for once, I couldn't help but worry. What if I messed up or didn't complete the mission? Adam must have noticed my discomfort, as he quickly spoke up.
"Bryce, don't worry. I know you'll do fine. After all, you were trained by the best," Adam let out his signature dolphin giggle, causing me to smile.
"That's better. Now, onto your mission. I admit, this will be difficult, and I understand if you don't want to, but it would be best if you did. As you know, the MA has been showing an increase in activity, which we want to stop as soon as possible. Your task is to get into their base and get as many of their 'subjects'" he said the word with a slight sneer, "out of there and back here; a search and rescue if you prefer. I can only help as far as where their base is and the basic set up of it. Besides that, it is your job to navigate and avoid being caught. Do you think you can do that Bryce?" Adam finished his explanation and turned to me. I bit my lip as I processed everything that Adam told me. Not gonna lie, I was worried. What if I got caught? Or even worse, what if I ran into Ohm? Both would come out to equally bad situations. However, even with those worries in mind, there was no way that I would decline the mission. I wasn't going to leave anybody in their clutches. If I had to go in there myself, so be it. I looked at Adam, my face set with determination.
"Let's do it,"

It didn't surprise me that their base just had to be in the school. Actually, it wasn't even in school-it was underneath it. Go figure. With a slight sigh and a roll of my eyes, I began to sneak around the school, looking for an entrance that I could take without being noticed by any of the students. Adam said there should be an entrance in almost every room, which made things a little easier at least. I walked past the main building, an idea making its way to me. The library! After the numerous amounts of times that I was in there, I knew that students never went in there. Plan in mind, I made my way to the back window that led into the library.
I slipped into the window with ease, my feet landing on the floor silently. I walked through the bookcases, searching for anything that could serve as an entrance. As I approached the final row of bookcases in the back of the room, I heard voices enter the library. I froze as I recognized the voice speaking; Mini.
My eyes widened and I prayed that they wouldn't come this way. My eyes quickly soured the back of the library looking for the entry to the base. Then, I saw it. A bookshelf sat tucked away in the corner of the room. That had to be it. I scanned the room to make sure no one was watching and then quickly made my way to the bookshelf. Now, one would expect for there to be a fancy secret passage that could only be opened by pulling the right book, but I was surprised that wasn't the case. I would've moved the case, but I didn't want to risk being heard, so I opted for using one of my newer abilities instead. I focused on my body becoming water, and when I felt the familiar rush of cold, I knew it was safe to move underneath the bookshelf. I reformed on the other side of the shelf. Adam had taught me water mimicry (the ability to turn into water) during our training. It was very odd at first, but I got used to it after a while. I hadn't mastered the power yet, but I was getting better.
