(Bryce's POV)
I was surrounded by black. Everywhere I looked was an endless void; the only light I received seemed to come from right above me. At first I tried walking, but it proved useless; everywhere I went seemed to only add to wherever I was. Even so, I still found myself wandering without purpose. The longer I walked, the more I heard what seemed to be voices circling around me, until they were the only thing I could focus on.
"Elementals, the rarest kind of power you'll ever see; excluding air. They aren't completely unheard of, but there have only been a total of 3 within the last few centuries. They are very powerful, but that power comes at a price. You see, the elements are some of the most precise, nit-picky powers, and are usually very painful to contain and control. The longer an elemental uses their power, especially in large capacity, the weaker and more hurt they become." Bryce's teacher's voice echoed, "Now, there has only ever been one that has had the ability to control more than one element. The same restrictions apply as with the one element, only much more severe." As soon as his teacher finished, a new voice began.
"What are we going to do?" I could hear Mini's voice.
"Why hasn't he woken up yet?" Delirious now spoke.
"This is really beginning to worry me, what if somethings not right?" Brock said.
Then the voices went silent. I don't know why they stopped, but the quiet now seemed deafening. I ran around, trying to find where the voices had come from. However, I was stopped by a woman with long brown hair that had a single purple streak in it. She was cloaked in a purple cape.
"Bryce, she had a distinct British accent, her voice low, "you must go, rejoin your friends. I admit, what waits ahead will be difficult, and at times possibly life threatening, but they need you. Don't worry, you're power is there to help you, not hinder you. Forget the past, let it go. You cannot afford to keep it close to you. Go, go now." The woman faded away. I looked up and saw that light was beginning to shine from above.
"Bryce." Suddenly it was Ohm's voice, low and quiet, "Bryce, please, I need you to wake up. I don't know where you are right now but," His voice seemed strangled. Wait, was he...crying? "But please, come back to us, I know you can hear me."
I wad surrounded in light, and I swear I could feel myslef almost reenter my body. The first thing that registered was how sore my body felt, as though I had been working our for hours, and I also felt very tired, even though I hadn't been awake. I then heard Ohm sniff, and it was then that I realized that someone was holding one of my hands in theirs.
I opened my eyes slowly and with great difficulty. It took everything I had not to shut them again. I blinked rapidly a few times, hoping to maybe wake them a bit. My hand twitched and Ohm's head shot up.
"B-Bryce?" Ohm exclaimed, immediately grabbing me and pulling me into a hug. I groaned in pain and he let go. I opened my mouth to speak , but found it very difficult.
"O...Ohm?" I asked as I attempted to sit up slowly, along with some help from Ohm, "H...h-ow lo...long w-was I o...ut?" I asked, coughing after I finished. Ohm got up for a moment and handed me a cup of water before answering. I began to drink it greedily.
"You've been out for close to two weeks now." My eyes shot open wide as I nearly choked on my water. Two weeks? How is that even possible? It didn't feel like more than an hour. He gave me a sad smile as he took the cup back.
"So where are the others?" I asked. My voice was still a little raspy.
"We've been taking turns coming to see you, while the rest go to class and such. The others are probably asleep now, since it's around one in the morning, but I couldn't sleep, so I came to see you. Glad I did, too. Speaking of, I should probably let the guys know to get here." I nodded, already going back to my thoughts. I bit my lip as I remembered what the teacher had said.
Painful, powerful, rare, and overall a bad time for me. Why was it me, of all people, to be cursed with this? What would the others think? Would they be angry, or even scared? I suddenly felt Ohm grab my face to turn it towards him.
"What's wrong Bryce?" He whispered, and I was aware of his face in very close proximity to mine, and his blindfold was up, revealing his eyes.
"In all honesty Ohm, I'm scared." I whispered back. Ohm rubbed his thumb lightly over my cheek.
"Bryce, you have all of us, you have me. We're going to be there for you." He said. Ohm leaned in slightly, and I felt my eyes close.
