⚔Castor Cruz⚔
I can't believe I actually said that. No one has ever known except for Ethan...
Leila stared at me with wide, unblinking, beautiful eyes. I was thinking I'd sent her into deep, deep shock before she took a deep breath, "Juvie?"
"Yep," I said slowly, "As in juvenile detention centre? Yes."
"W-why?" she still wasn't blinking. How were her eyes not getting tired?
Leila raised an eyebrow, "What did you do to get three years in juvie?"
I gulped and looked away. I scratched the back of my neck.
I've told her. I've told Leila one of my darkest secrets. And... I was scared to tell her more? Man up, Castor.
"I set a building on fire that had over two hundred workers in it."
Her eyes were practically bulging out of her head, "But why would you do that?"
"They fired my mum," I said through gritted teeth, "When they already knew we were running low on money."
Her eyes began to blink slowly and then looked around my bedroom.
"Mum got a job with a publishing company soon after and made... a lot of money," I gestured to the room, "But I was just... so angry. That's all I remember. The anger. Enough anger to put two hundred people's lives at risk."
Leila stood up, "That's a good thing," she murmured.
"B-but I went to juvie for three years?" I smirked, "Not entirely a good thing, Nerd."
I took a deep breath. I was slowly becoming more relaxed.
"No," she said quietly, "That you have that fire in you. I've never even hit anyone."
She looked up at me and I realised suddenly what colour her eyes are. Around the pupil she had small flecks of brown mixed into a dark green. That green faded into a light blue, becoming grey. The very outside of her eyes were a dark blue. I gulped, "You've never hit anyone?"
She shook her head once.
"I met Ethan at juvie in a punch-up," I admitted, "Ethan had cut in line in front of me and took the last piece of cake. I ended up somehow on the floor sitting on top of him, breaking his nose, until the teacher's came and broke us apart."
"And you're friends how?" she asked with a small laugh.
"The next day we punched up someone together," I smirked.
"Of course," she murmured.
I said quietly, "How have you never hit anyone?"
It was an impossibility for a sixteen-year-old girl to just... not hit anyone. She could have at least slapped that Trent guy.
She blushed and looked at her feet, "Lucy told me not to. I've been under Lucy for six years," she murmured, "Until I was ten I never wanted to hit anyone. Then this girl, Brit, came along... she called me names. She loved calling me Messed-Up Barbie. I'd never wanted to yell at someone more in my life. I asked Dad and Lucy about it because Mum was out on a business trip. Dad said that if you really, really despise someone, you'll know when it's time to slap them. Lucy just said don't hit her because it would ruin my facial structure if she hit me back."
"Hardcore," I smirked. "Wait... do you mean Brit Daphne?"
"You know it," she retorted and sat back on my desk.
Brit Daphne is probably the prettiest girl in school apart from Leila. When I first got to the school all I heard Brit talk about was how pretty Leila from VS is and how she is "so not like Leila Perez, the nerd, at all". And now all she talks about is how Leila from VS doesn't deserve to be a model.
I murmured, "She's a b****."
"Ditto," Leila giggled, "She whispers nerd whenever I walk past her in the hallways."
"And calls you one at lunch," I winced.
Leila glanced up at me with avid curiosity. She smiled brightly, "You're a pretty good friend, Castor."
Wait.
Wait one second.
Actually, no wait ten billion trillion years.
Did I just get friend-zoned?
Suddenly I found it hard to breathe again. Not another panic attack. I had these all the time back in juvie. Whenever I was in close contact with anyone, more likely a girl, I would suddenly think of how close the flames had been to the people, where they could have been scarred.
The girl could scar me if I let her get too close.
This girl? Definitely.
"Castor?!" a voice shouted, waking me from my reverie. I absorbed a copious amount of air and tried to make an effort to slow my breathing.
I couldn't. I was hyperventilating now. The fact that Leila was standing above me, on the floor, wasn't helping. She shook my shoulder, "Castor?!"
I was still struggling to breath.
Leila didn't sweat. She forcefully pushed her lips to mine.
I froze. My breathing stopped. She tasted like cherries... and strawberries. My heart beat was slowing. I breathed in through my nose and she pulled back. She smoothed my hair off my forehead, "Castor?"
I nodded weakly, "Present."
She smiled softly, "Thanks to stidia, I just saved you."
*****
She left right after that, closing her blinds behind her.
Of course, a few minutes later when I could try and think properly I searched up stidia, only to find out it is spelt Stydia, it is a ship name from Teen Wolf and involves of a guy named Stiles and a girl named Lydia.
I then searched up Stydia panic attack only to find that Lydia had kissed Stiles when he was panicking because it stopped him from breathing.
Had Leila only kissed me because I was panicking and she needed to cut my air, or was it because she liked me?
No. A VS model wouldn't like me.
