☼Leila Perez☼
He was freaking out in front of me. He was having a panic attack.
"Castor?!" I yelled as he slid down the wall, panting heavily.
I ran to him and stood above him, "Castor?!"
I shook his shoulders, "Castor?!"
What do you do when someone's having a panic attack? A panic attack is usually when they're so worried about something that their breathing becomes so fast that they're ingesting carbon dioxide faster than they can dispel it. So I need to stop him from breathing in more carbon dioxide.
Cut off his airways.
But how do I do that?
Quickly I pushed my lips against his, ignoring the fireworks going on.
He immediately began to relax as his air was cut off. I stepped back nervously.

I hit my head on my desk repetitively, "Idiot. Idiot. Idiot."
I could have just covered his face with my hands. Or held up a blanket to his mouth.
Instead, I kissed him.
"Idiot. Idiot. Idiot."
"What did you do this time?"
I shot straight up on my chair and slowly looked to the door.
I screamed, "Who the hell are you?!"
A man in his late twenties stood at my bedroom door. He was clean-cut in a shirt and jeans, with a gelled hairstyle. But it was still scary. There was an intruder in my house!
"Get the f*** out!" I shouted.
He chuckled, "Your name is Leila right?"
I squeaked, "What the f*** man?! Get out of my house or I'll call triple-zero!"
My window behind me slid open and Castor landed in a crouch in my bay window. His expression scared me. It was dark and mysterious, "Who the f*** are you?"
The man scoffed, "You got yourself a protector, Leila?"
Castor took a step in front of me and his muscles rippled as he crossed his arms, "Yeah, she does."
I spied his phone in his back pocket and whipped it out quickly. I looked in terror at the man still standing in my bedroom door as I operated his phone silently. Crap. I needed a password. I winced and pressed the emergency button. I was just about to press the third zero when the phone was plucked neatly out of my hand by manicured fingers.
I spun around quickly and time slowed down. I blinked once. Twice. Then a third time.
It was like looking at a ghost.
"Castor," I whispered.
He spun his back and grabbed me by the waist, pulling me away from both the intruders.
Except one wasn't an intruder.
She has a key.
I croaked, "Aunt Alessandra?"
[A/N: Changing perspectives!! May be hard to understand .__.]
♡Alessandra Perez♡
I stared at my niece with a large smile, "Hey kiddo."
Her eyes were full of shining tears. Her mouth was partially gaping. She looked... paralysed.
I softened my smile, "Leila?"
Connor joined me at my side.
"Leila...?" I whispered.
She took a step back into whom I was assuming was her boyfriend, "I-It can't be..."
Her boyfriend murmured, "Nerd, who is this woman?"
Leila suddenly turned and buried her head in the boy's chest. His eyes widened momentarily and his hands seemed awkwardly extended from his sides.
Okay... maybe they weren't dating then...
"Nerd," he whispered, "Who is she?"
I stepped towards the duo but the boy pulled them both back.
I sighed and offered, "My name is Alessandra Perez."
His mouth formed my last name but no sound came out.
"Get out!" the timid voice tried to order, weakly, "Please... just get out and don't come back."
I sat on her bed as Connor stood uncomfortably by her desk. I chimed, "Leila, I came to say sweet sixteenth."
"Why should you care?" she cried.
I winced. Okay, that hurt. But I deserved it, "Because I'm your aunt."
"Then you should have been there!" she screeched into the boy's shirt, "But you didn't even show!"
The boy's eyes met with mine and suddenly they became furious. He must realise what this is about. He said through gritted teeth, "Did you miss her dad's funeral?"
My heart fell and I curled up into a ball on her bed, "Yes... I did."

I watched my girlfriend curl into a ball and say the three hardest words in the world, "Yes... I did."
I walked to the bed and put my arms around her. I watched Leila's boyfriend hold her tightly suddenly and say, "How could you?"
My girlfriend sighed into my arms, "I didn't mean to..."
"How do you just miss your brother's funeral?!" he yelled and I'm pretty sure most of us in the room jumped.
Alessandra sighed, "I was overseas... My plane got delayed. I missed the funeral by a few hours."
I held her tighter.

My blood was boiling. Leila was crying again because of her dad, but this time it was because her aunt missed her dad's funeral.
They needed her there and she couldn't show.
I hesitantly wrapped my arms around her and whispered, "I can kick them out?"
She shook her head slowly, "Y-you can't..."
"I can," I said strongly.
Leila gulped, "Sh-she's only ever here for one thing..."
"What's that?"
"Money," she murmured, "If she's here... she's gone bankrupt."
