He's supposed to speak to me today,  well we're supposed to speak to each other, ground rules and stuff. It's half way through the last lesson of the day and I haven't even seen him at all, maybe he's avoiding it, regretting it probab-

"Ryan? Anybody home? Hellooo" Linda waves her hands in my face.

"Yeah I'm home..."

"You're home?.. what? Ryan this is a team project you know, I'm doing all the work right now, there's no I in team" she jokes

"Yeah sorry, where are we up to?"

"We need to add a bit about pro-" she stops half way through, as does the whole class as the door opens, they're all like meerkats, even the teacher. Mrs Abrams walks up to Brendon and they talk quietly for a second, then he leaves. I wonder what that was all about.

"Mr Ross" a room full of meerkats again, looking at me as she calls my name and gestures me towards  the door. I share a confused look with Linda, then leave the room, closing the door behind me. I walk out into the hallway to see Brendon stood waiting.

"Hey?"

"Hey, I know you wanted to discuss rules and stuff today. I've been really busy Ive had tests all day"

"It's okay, no rush right? Do you wanna talk now though, I'm in a lesson, I've kinda left Linda doing all of our presentation slides"

"No no, I wrote a list of some rules and I thought I'd pass you it and you could do the same"

"Good idea, but what if there's some rules we don't agree with?"

"Then we'll talk about those later" he hands me an envelope.

"I'll open it when I get home"

"There is something I wrote on there which I'm just gonna tell you now anyway"

"Okay?"

"You need to convince your two friends, we've ended it"

"What, why?"

"They can't know, what if they get drunk and spill everything, like they did with you."

"True, what should I tell them?"

"Tell them Spencer was right, I used you or you ended it either way I don't care just tell them it's over"

"Good idea"

"You should get back to class" he puts his hand on my shoulder"

"Yeah true" I turn around to walk back in and he grabs my arm.

"I forgot, if you don't have any plans tomorrow, Josh and Tyler have a band and they're doing a show, if you want to go?"

"They're a band, neat, yeah I'm game, what time?"

"I'll pick you up if you want?"

"What if Spencer sees us, he lives close by, can I come to yours?"

"Yeah sure, before 6 thou-"

"Ah Mr. Urie there you are, I'm ready to give you some results"

I watch him walk away down the corridor with The Principal, I'm not gonna lie, I'm checking him out, I stop when I realise he looks back at me and smiles. I hope he didn't see me, observe every inch of him, who cares, he's my secret.

I don't even get chance to re-enter the classroom before the bell rings and everyone practically runs out. I stand outside and wait for Spence and Linda, we're going to buy a new phone for myself so i can stop living in the stone age.
