I thought I'd end up in hell but the light it's right there

"In celebration of my giant Pikachu, I'll buy the first round" Jenna suggests as we begin to queue up at a pop up stall. It's just a long white table placed under a canopy with tenders handing out beer in red plastic cups. "Do you like beer Ryan? Or do you want a whiskey, liquors, vodka?" Wait how old do they think I am?

"I'm uh I'm good thanks, I don't, I don't drink" Tyler and Jenna immediately looked at Brendon, their faces are very vocal. Even Brendon looks a little embarrassed, probably questioning 'what kind of high school kid doesn't drink?' We're in awkward silence for a few seconds.

"Why?" Asks Tyler. Now all eyes are on me. I'm trying not to make eye contact with any of them, so I look at my shoes whilst I think of an answer that isn't 'because my dad's an alcoholic and I don't want to end up like him'.

"I'm sure he has his reasons" Brendon speaks up, saving me from this interigation. He pats me on the shoulder and gives me a warming simile, I smile back. They get their drinks and we pick a spot to sit whilst we wait for Josh to show. "Have you been here before?" Brendon asks me.

"I came three years ago, but it wasn't like this, they had to close all the rides to stop all the drunk people getting on them, then a riot happened and some guys drove dirt bikes down the giant slide..." they all burst into histerics, I didn't think it was that funny of a story, I sit there looking confused.

"That was Brendon and Dallon" Tyler let's out, followed by "That night was soooo... sick! We had that massive food fight and you and Dallon stole some girls heels and had a race!"

"Oh yeah! Dallon could walk so well in heels but I made them work! What about when you climbed that scaffolding and ended throwing up on like 3 people!"

"Because I ate all them burgers!"

"Yeah what was it like 15? And Josh still beat you!" Me and Jenna are just sat listening to Tyler and Brendons exciting back and forth of memories from that night.

"By ONE burger, ONE! That was such a good night! You waking up on the roof of Dallon's car that somehow ended up in his neighbours pool! In your birthday suit aswell! Oh man I miss Dallon, you two were great together!" The conversation flatlines after Tylers statement and I see the big smile on Brendons face slowly fade away. Luckily josh shows up before another awkward silence begins.

"I see you've started without me..." he jokes "I'll buy the next round, someone give me a hand?" Brendon gets up to help him.

"You had to bring up Dallon!?" Jenna smacks him.

"He was fine talking about him!" Tyler defends whilst rubbing his arm.

She mimics his voice sarcastically  "'you and Dallon were great together' you couldn't have worded it any better" he rolls his eyes. Who is Dallon? What did he do Brendon? I won't ask, it's not my place to.

"Stop arguing with me, it's uncomfortable for Ryan"

"I'm not gonna lie... I'm enjoying it" I tell them, they both laugh. "I've got to say though, 15 burgers is weak sauce man! Im like the king of eating food"

"Ooooooooooo" Jenna adds

"You're the king of eating food? Really? You look like you've eaten nothing for 5 years!" Tyler defends.

"Coming from you?" I retaliate

"Ooooooo" Jenna adds again

"Me. You. Burger Challenge. Tonight" he orders

"Ooooooo" Jenna again

"Challenge accepted!"

"Ooooooo" Jenna again
