Chapter 38

Logan's pov

So much has happened in the past week since I've been back. I've continued on with high school, Mrs. Matthews is working on sueing the orphanage, and things were fine.

I was at the bay window with Riley and Maya, and they brought it up.

"Logan, what happened while you were there?" Maya asked curiously. My heart stopped and I stopped playing with my necklace.

Do I tell them?

They are my best friends.

"Oh, nothing really." I simply answered, lying to them.

"Logan, we won't tell anyone. Please, let us help you." Riley begged and grabbed my hand.

"Promise?"

"Swear." Maya said.

"There was a guy there." I said shakily, "He said he knows everything about me, but I don't know what he's talking about. He called me Lilliana, I don't understand."

I looked at Riley and Maya who sat there confused.

"Lilliana?"

"I don't know what he's talking about."

I wanted to tell them that he claims he's my father, but I wasn't allowed to. I shouldn't, but I need advice.

"Anything else?"

I looked up from the floor, "He said he was my dad." I bit my lip.

Their eyes widened, "But you met your dad!" Maya argued.

"We did a DNA test!"

"I don't know." I sighed. "Maybe he was insane or something."

He couldn't be telling the truth.

Right?

Lucas' pov

"Hey."

I turned around and saw Logan walking up to me.

I sighed, "Hey."

"You wanted to talk...?" she trailed off on her questioned. I nodded and she brushed her hair out her face, "What's up?"

"Let's walk." I told her and she nodded.

We walked down the path at the park. I stuffed my hands in my jean pockets.

"I'm sorry." I apologized.

"For what?"

"I was suppose to protect you. I promised to keep you safe and to make sure you were ok. I told you nothing would happen to you, but I didn't do my job."

She stopped walking and I turned around and faced her.

"Lucas, you can't be serious, right?"

"I am."

"You couldn't have protected me from that. Not you, not Shawn, no one."

"But-"

"Stop blaming yourself, I was the dumb one to believe that they would change. No one can change."

"Hey, people change people."

"Then how come nothing has changed?" she asked me annoyed.

I took her hand, "I think things have."

She smiled and looked at her hands, but then stopped and lightly pulled away from my grasp.

"I'm sorry, I can't. Not with this whole situation."

I sighed and nodded, "I know, I'm sorry."

"Maybe someday?"

"Depends on what you do." I half smiled and she sighed and rubbed her left arm with her right hand.

"Who knows what's gonna happen at this point?"

I sighed and nodded in agreement. We walked back to Topanga's in silence. I like Logan, Logan likes me. Why we can't date? Farkle and Zay also like her. I can't tell how Logan feels, but when we're together, I feel a connection. I know she feels it to. It's different then any other connection, it's like the world stops and we can just be together. It's something I wouldn't trade for the world, but now things are complicated. Now she's starting to be different, but when she isn't, the connection is there. She's smiling, laughing, happy.

And that's what I love about her.

I'm probably one of the few people that have seen her like that.

A/N: Long time no see! Sorry, I have been so busy with school and all that I've had a hard time to think of some ideas. But I got this and yeah! I hope you guys liked it!

Read what Lucas said closely, does it have any meaning at all? Maybe it's how he feels about someone else...
