Chapter 52

Logan's pov

The next day Maya and I had crawled through Riley's window, but saw her sitting in her bed.

"Hey." Maya smiled. She looked up, then looked away, not looking at either of us. I looked at Maya for an explanation, but she had nothing. "What happened last night?"

"Nothing." Riley mumbled.

"You sure? I asked concerned about her. Riley had never really been like this, even when her and I got in a fight.

"Yes." she snapped and I stopped asking questions.

"Alright then," Maya looked at me with a concerned look. I shrugged and sighed, looking over at Riley.

"I better get going." I whispered and she nodded. I left, which left Maya with Riley, Hopefully she could figure this out, cause I had no ideas.

Maya's pov

Logan left and I closed the window once she was gone.

"What happened?" I asked. Riley walked over and sat down by me.

"Luas doesn't like me anymore." she hugged her knees. "He likes Logan. I asked him what happened between the two of us and he didn't respond."

"Riley, you can't blame Logan, she never forced Lucas to like her."

"It's not fair." she let go of her knees, letting her legs fall. "It was suppose to be me and Lucas, but now it's not. It's not fair."

"Riles, we're in high school. You have your whole life to find the perfect person for you." I tried to comfort her, but Riley didn't seem to want that.

"Lucas is a jerk." she sighed. After trying to comfort her for another half hour, she just wanted to be alone. I respected that and left, but decided to go to Lucas. I walked up the porch and rang the doorbell, waiting for someone to come. A minute later, the door opened and I saw Mrs. Friar.

"Hi Maya," she opened the door, letting me come in and I smiled.

"Hi Mrs. Friar. Lucas upstairs?" I asked and she nodded. I went upstairs and opened his door to see Zay sitting there talking to him.

"You're dead Friar." I growled, about to take him out, but Zay stopped me before I could.

"What did I do?" he asked shocked.

"You hurt Riley!"

He rolled his eyes, "I don't get why I can't just choose for myself."

"You can but you don't have to be a jerk about it!" I grabbed his water bottle and threw water in his face. "Jerk!"

"Maya!" Zay laughed and Lucas hot him a glare.

"I never said anything to hurt her, I just don't know how to explain it to her. I us moved on." Lucas grabbed a towel out of his closet and wiped his face.

"There are nicer ways to put things instead of ignoring the situation."

"I think that I have the right to move on." Lucas laid his towel on his bed and sat down. I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms over my chest.

"You do, but you can't just ignore Riley when she's asking." I huffed.

"If I answered she would've been mad." he stood up. "Either way she's mad."

"Whatever." I sighed. Riley was still hurt, and I was still mad.
