I've been out driving around and walking these streets for close to two hours and not a single sign of Vanity. My phone was literally taking forever to charge with CJ's charger and I couldn't wait any longer for it to fully charge, I pulled it off and saw it was only at forty eight percent... really? Even his charger is an ass like him.
I went to her iPod number and tried to FaceTime her, praying she answers. I sat in my car, anxiously tapping my fingers on the ice cold steering wheel. Please pick up Vanity, I swear I've got nearly half the mind to kill CJ for just letting her go walking around on her own for this long. When there was no answer, I sent her a series of texts. One after the other, hoping to see she read them or the chat bubble with the three dots but there was neither. Again I tried calling her on FaceTime and to my greatest surprise, it was connecting.
"Hello?" Some nigga said and I just glared at him. "Chastity?"
"Hold up, who are you and where's Vanity?" I demanded as I stared at his face since it took up nearly the entire screen.
"Give me my iPod, please." Vanity's voice rang through my phone and there she was. I breathed out a sigh of relief to see she looked safe and sound. "Hi Chastity, how are you?"
"How am I? I'm worried sick about you. I was going to go on a rampage throughout Riverside just to find you. Are you okay? Where are you? Give me an address so I can meet up with you." Studying her face, her nose was red and eyes puffy... a clear indication she had been crying and it broke my heart. I couldn't help but think that it's not fair she was left in tears, she's too kind and sweet to be done so wrong that it made her cry.
"I'm at my friend Jordan's apartment. He's sending you his address right now-"
"Alright, I'll be over there in a few minutes." I hung up the call and tapped on the new message that came through, revealing his address and it went right to Google maps. She wasn't too far from here, so I started up the car and followed along the route that I was provided with. Streets were basically empty so that cut the travel time in half and I was rolling through some red lights, maybe a few stop signs as well but that's not important.
Pulling up to the apartments, I hopped out of my car and his text said apartment number one seven seven three. It wasn't hard to find since it was right on the second floor and the first door to the right. I knocked hard on the door to make sure I was heard and the door was opened to reveal Jordan.
"Move nigga." I said pushing him to the side and stepping inside, there she was on the couch eating out of a bag of nacho cheese Doritos, even had some of the cheese dust on the corners of her mouth. "Thank you lord, you've made me a believer again." I said throwing myself on the couch and pulling her into the biggest hug I could possibly giver her without crushing her ribs.
"Hi Chastity, are you okay?" She asked when she let me go and set the bag down on the small table in front of the couch. Jordan had since closed the door and took a seat on the other side of Vanity.
"I'm fine now. You had no idea how scared I was. Why would you go walking around late at night without a cellphone? That's it, I'm getting you one and I don't care if you object to it."
"I wasn't walking around at night. I left the house just after one and met up with Jordan at around three. From there we came back to his place and I've stayed here since." She spoke rather softly.
"Still. What's the matter with you? You weren't like this when we were on the phone earlier. Did he do something to you?" Jordan has excused himself from the room to give us time to talk. He took the bag of chips along with him and escaped to a different room.
