"Hey, babe!"  I call Justin up to what will be our bedroom "I'm going to get the paint soon.  Which of these colors do you like better?"

"I really like the grey."  He looks at the  options again "As long as you're okay with it."

"Yeah, I think it'll look great."  I lean in to kiss him quickly.  If only all these decisions were this easy.

"I can't believe this house will be done soon.  I feel like we just started on it." I admit "I'm so excited to see how it turns out."

"It's so cool to know that we picked all of it out, too."  He surprises me considering he was against this at first "I know I didn't really want to build a whole new house, but going through all of this with you was really amazing.  I can't wait to live here forever in the house we helped build."

Justin goes back downstairs to finish working on our counters.  We're building as much as we can by ourselves so that we can be creative and know we helped.  The main reason I wanted to build the house was because I knew we would be able to add our own creativity.  Even though we've had countless arguments and sometimes hate each other's ideas, the house is coming along great.  I wouldn't want to spend our future anywhere else, and I really do believe that after all these disagreements our relationship will be stronger.

I go to the store to buy the paint, and of course while I'm there get distracted.  They have so many different things to pick from, and I end up buying all the sheets, curtains and decorations that we'll need for our room.  I pick the color scheme (which Justin normally hates doing) and everything else myself, and hope that he won't hate it when I show him.  While I'm there, I also pick up some things that we ordered and get an even better mental picture of what the house will look like.  Little things help put that picture together.

"We don't even have a bed here yet."  Justin laughs as he looks through the sheets "This whole thing is making you go crazy.  Maybe it's all the paint fumes."

"I am not crazy."  I say defensively "I just saw them and got excited.  Now we don't need to worry about getting them later, AND you didn't get stuck with me shopping for them."

"This is true."  He smiles, obviously happy about not going through that 'torture' "You did do a good job though.  They feel really comfortable."

"See, I know what I'm doing when I pick out this stuff."  I smirk walking up the steps towards our room.  He follows me with the paint cans and supplies.

"I wanna use the rolling thing!"  I decide as he gets it set up "I'm short so I'll help me.

He reluctantly hands it over to me knowing it'll probably be trouble.  I dip it in the paint and then roll it down his hair to his back.  He jumps up and turns around flicking the paint brush at me.

"You bitch!"  He laughs "This is my favorite shirt!"

"Yeah?  Well you just got paint in my hair!"  I yell "Asshole!  America isn't gonna be happy when they find out Rachel's hair is messed up!"

"I think America will get over a freaking hair style."  He jokes knowing I don't like the hair anyway.  Maybe I can just cut the paint out and have something I like.

"This actually looks better than I thought."  I back up to the middle of the room to inspect everything.  The medium grey color was the perfect choice.  It's not too light, and the sun shining in through the windows makes sure it isn't too dark, either.  It also fits both our personalities and won't be outdated over the years we'll be here.

"That's because we're painting it together."  Justin walks over wrapping his arms around me "Everything is so much better because of that.  Even if we think we hate each other half the time."

"Aw, babe, I don't hate you, I just hate your opinions."  I hit him with some paint and go back to working "Where do you think we should put everything?"

"I don't know."  He sighs looking around "I guess the bed would be good where you are.  I figured you would be picking out where the rest went.  It doesn't really matter to me."

"Okay, but I want your opinion too."  I stop and look over at him "You'll be sleeping here too, you get a say in it."

"It really doesn't matter too much to me, Jen."  He says "As long as you don't take up all my space or hang up pictures of random kittens I'm fine with whatever you want."

"Kittens are actually a really good idea, but I'm leaning more towards puppies and flowers.  I think that would go along with the room better."  I joke.

"Well in that case so would my collectibles.  I know they won't get 'ruined' from the atmosphere or whatever the hell it is of our room.  I'm not that stupid."

"The air, honey, and I know you aren't."  I laugh "They just don't fit in here.  That's what your office is for."

"Fine, but I should be able to have at least something in here."  He argues "Like a picture of them or something."

"That's fine, but it stays on your night stand.  I don't wanna get scared in the middle of the night."

"Deal."  He thinks about something else for a while "Can I at least have it facing up?  If you get scared it's not real anyway."

"Okay, you can have it facing up, but it stays on the night stand." I realize how childish we sound and burst out laughing.

"What's so funny?"

"Just that we sound, and kinda are, childish, yet we're doing so many adult things."

"It is kinda crazy."  He agrees "But there's nobody else I'd wanna be doing these adult things with."
