Letting go

Chapter twelve

I just have to push those feeling away and out of my mind.

It's been 3 months since i moved to london. Thanks to jackson i've settled in nicly. I haven't heard from hunter or anyone from home for about a month which is sad but not. I've been looking for a job but nothing has happened yet. Nothing else has happened between me and jackson lately.
It's around 11 and I'm still in bed on my laptop. On cue my stomach growls making me shut my laptop and walked to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and grabbed some eggs. I grabbed a pan and started scrabbling eggs. When I was about half way done a sleepy Jackson stumbled down the hall. "Morning sleeping beauty," I smile once he's in the kitchen. He just waves me off and sits down on a stool. "You doing anything today?" Jackson asked once we were sitting down to eat. "Nope," I said piping the p. "Well I was wondering if you would like to come to meet my friends?" He asked. "I'd love to," I said putting some egg in my mouth. "It starts at 1 so be ready," he said with a smile. After finishing my breakfast I walked to my room to get ready. I stripped of my pjs and turned on the water. Once it was hot I stepped in and let the warm water slide down my bare body. I stood there for a while before doing my normal shower routine. After I was done I shut off the water and stepped out, wrapping a towel around my body. I walked into my closet and started picking out my outfit for the day. After about 5 minutes I decided on some plain black leggings, an oversized gray off the shoulder sweater, and some brown ankle boots. After putting my outfit on I walked into the bathroom and pulled out my hair dryer. After blow drying my hair I decided to leave it in it's natural waves before grabbing my lip balm and rubbing it all over my slightly chapped lips. It was around 12:50 when I walked out of the bathroom so I grabbed my phone and walked down the hall. "Took you long enough," Jackson remarked as I walked into the living room. "Funny," I said sarcasm dripping from my words. "I know I am," he said turning his head for the first time to look at me. "Wow," he said as his mouth dropped. "What," I asked scared I looked horrible. "You look stunning," he said looking at me up and down. All I could do was blush at his comment. "Ready?" I asked after recovering from my blush session. "Yep," Jackson said piping the p at the end. I grabbed my purse before exiting the apartment. We walked down to his car and got in. "Where are we going?" I asked once we started driving. "A lunch with my friends and their girlfriends," he said focusing on the road. "Oh," I said nervous. "You'll be fine. They'll love you," he said with a reassuring smile. The rest of the ride was quite till we pulled up to a small little cafe. "We're here," he said parking the car. We got out and walked to the front doors. As we neared my palms started getting sweaty. Jackson opened the door for me as I walked in and looked around. There were tables and chairs all around. "Jay reservation," he said to the receptionist. "Right this way." We came to a table with six other people sitting at it. I stood behind Jackson as me approached the table. "Hey Jackson," a man said standing up to him Jackson. "Hey jay," he said back. "Who's this?" Another asked a girl this time. "This is my roommate Harper, Harper this is jay, Elle, Collin, Katie, brain, and misty," Jackson said going around the table. "Hi," I said waving that them. "Come sit," Jackson said pulling out a chair for me before siting in his own chair. "So Harper how did meat Jackson?" Katie asked. "I sat next to him on the plane to London," I said after ordering our drinks. "So how do you like it here in london?" Elle asked. "I really like it. It's a nice change," I said taking a sip of my lemonade. "So where are you from?" Jay asked. "I'm from California." "Do you have any siblings?" Misty asked which made me tense up. "Umm my twin brother and older sister died in a car accident about three months ago," I said after a while. "Oh I'm so sorry," they all said. "It's fine," I said smiling. "Well umm Harper Elle and jay are engaged," Jackson said moving to a different topic. "Congratulations," I said. "Thanks," Elle blushed. Soon our food came and we made small talk as I learned more about them. Jay and Elle are engaged. Kate and Collin have been together for 6 months. Misty and Brian also moved here from California. "We better go. Bye guys," Jackson said once we were outside. "Bye girls. It was so nice meeting you," I said giving each a hug. "Bye," they all yelled as we walked to the car. "I knew they would like you," Jackson said as we drove home. "Yeah it's like I've known them for my whole life," I said smiling. "I can't believe Elle asked you to be in her wedding," Jackson said shaking his head. "I know." After our laughter had died down we pulled up to the apartment. I got out and walked to the elevator. Once back in the apartment I walked to my room and changed into some comfy joggers and sports bra. "I threw my hair up into a messy bun and laid down on my bed. I started at the ceiling and just let my mind wonder. Somehow it landed on Jackson. How he walked. How he smiled. How his hair looked perfect. I sat up quick in bed.
