                                                                           Harper's pov

"Harper please will you just stop," My dad snapped harshly.

It was Harmony's 21st birthday and we were having a nice dinner. Me, Harry, Harry's girlfriend Kenisy, Harmony, Harmony's boyfriend Hunter, Mom and dad were all sitting at the dining room table. I had been talking to Hunter and Harmony when he snapped.

"Dad she's fine," Harmony said looking taken aback by his outburst.

"Harmony don't cross me right now. Your sister is being a pain and she needs to stop," He said shocking everyone.

"Arthur don't talk about our daughter like that," My mom said stepping in.

"May stay out of this. All you ever do is mess things up," He said brushing her off.

Harmony never sees our parents like this since she lives with Hunter while she goes to college. Harry doesn't see it either because he's always out getting drunk or something. Mom and dad start getting into it and throwing things around, yelling at one another.

Everyone but me jump up and more away from the cause but I just kept eating my dinner silently.

"Harper aren't you going to more out of the way?" Harry asked as he ducked from some plates being thrown by mom.

"I'm used to it. While you two are gone I have to deal with this at home," I said dodging a cup flying past my head.

"You mean they do this often?" Harmony asked with worry clear in her eyes.

"Every night," I said sadly.

"Harper you need to see this," Harmony said walking into the living room.

"What is it?" I asked looking up from my phone.

"It's a picture of your birth mom," She said making me jump all over the picture.

She was tall and beautiful. Her long brown hair sculpted her tanned face. The way her long fingers were being held by a little baby. I was a smitten image of her and my dad. Jason had left my mom after finding out she was going to have twins and married another woman. Mom fell into drugs and alcohol. Two months before she was supposed to have me and Harry, she was taken into custody by the police. After she had us my blood grandparents nor family wanted to take care of us so she put us up for adoption. She was only 18 when it happened and after 18 years she's out of prison and wants to meet me and Harry.

"When do you meet her?" Harmony asked pulling me for my thoughts.

"Tomorrow," I said concentrating on all of my mother's features.

"Harper is that you?" A woman asked from a bench in the park.

"Caire?" I asked walking up to her.

"Yes I'm Caire," She said smiling widely.

This was it, I'm meeting my birth mom for the first time. The moment I've been waiting for since I was 12. She's sitting right in front of me. Right here right now.

"Harper where is your brother?" She asked the question I'd been dreading to tell her since we planned today.

"He is not in the best of terms right now. He said he didn't want to see you," I said looking down.

"I understand why. I wouldn't want to meet the woman who abandoned me 18 years ago ether," She said pulling my attention to her.

"Well how have you been all these years?" I asked getting right into it.
