The doctor walked out of the room and Jack laid down next to me on my bed.
"Tell me." He started.
"What do you remember?" He asked.
"I definitely remember being kidnapped. I'll never forget that. I remember the whole sha-bang that went along with it." I started.
"I'm sorry, but I really have no idea who Grayson and Nate are." I said.
"It's okay, it's not your fault." He said, he looked upset.
"Let me just say. You look fantastic with those blonde highlights." I said stroking my hand through his hair.
"Not as great as your pink highlights." He said.
We both laughed for a second.
"I'm washing these out as soon as possible." I said.
"Not if I beat you to it." He said nudging me in the right arm this time.
We sat in the bed for about twenty minutes comforted by the sound of my monitor.
"Kate?" Jack said breaking the silence.
"What?" I asked.
"Why did you care so much about me getting out of there safe rather than yourself?" He asked me turning his head.
I turned my head.
"Because your my brother and I love you." I exclaimed.
"Stop being so cliché and tell me the real reason." He said.
"Jack I have already told you, they wanted me more than they wanted you. There was a better chance of you being able to escape rather than me." I said almost starting to tear up.
Jack took my hand and held it, tight.
"I'm going to take this time that we have alone to apologize." He said.
"What do you have to apologize for?" I asked him.
"For being the reason that you were almost killed." He said ashamed.
"Jack, you told them what they needed to hear." I said.
"But that almost cost your life." He explained.
I didn't say anything.
A/N sorry for the change, but Jack and Kate are actually going home to see their family. I know it may not be super realistic, but it's going to work with the plot.
Doctor Frederick walked back into the room.
"Kate, I think that you are all set and ready to leave." He said.
"When can we see our family?" Jack asked.
"Officer Violet is going to bring you guys home and you will see them soon." He said taking my IV out.
(Skip way out of the hospital. Now they are getting in the police car with Officer Violet.)
The police officer opened the door for us and we got inside the car.
I put my seat belt on.
Officer Violet got in his seat and backed out of the parking lot.
"How far away are we from our house?" Jack asked.
"It's going to be a bit of a ride, we have about two and a half hours away." He replied.
I began to get tired. My eyes grew heavy.
