They walked out of the room, shut the door, and locked it.
I sat down on my rock hard bed. Jack sat in his too.
"We need to get out of here." He said.
"The both of us can't get out of here." I said.
"We have to try. I'm not going to be the one who is going to try to escape and leave you here. You won't last." Jack explained.
"They want me more. They'll will have a better chance of letting you go." I said.
Jack was silent.
"Tomorrow, we're going to find you a way out and you're going to bring help back." I said.
"What if you're not here." He said.
"I'll take care of myself and if I'm not here, then you should just be thankful that you're alive." I said.
"Kate." Jack said disappointed that I wasn't worrying about myself.
"Jack, I'm trying to save your butt here." I explained.
"Can we just sleep on this? I think you're going a little crazy considering that you're putting me before you." He said.
I didn't say anything. I laid down and tried to sleep, but I couldn't.
I guess about an hour went by.
"Jack?" I whispered.
"Yeah." He whispered back.
"I can't sleep." I said sitting up.
"Neither can I." He said rising slowly.
I couldn't sleep for two reasons. One, I had just been kidnapped, duh. Two, because I didn't have my blanket, well now it's a rag. It's this discolored piece of cloth that I sleep with. I'm really not sure what it is about it, but I can't sleep without it.
I got up and laid down in Jack's bed.
He turned around so we were both on our sides facing each other.
He gasped for a second, but calmed down.
"What was that?" I asked him.
"I forgot about all that." He said moving his hand around my face.
"I didn't recognize you for a split second." He said.
It was silent for a few minutes.
"Jack, what if we don't ever see our family again?" I asked him breaking the silence.
"Don't say that." He said putting the thin sheet over his head.
"Mom, dad, Cameron, Ethan, Grayson, Finn, and Nate." I said.
"We will see them again." He said grabbing my hand.
"We just need to get out of here." He said.
"You just need to get out of here." I exclaimed.
"Kate, I know I have already told you this, but what if you're not here if I escape and come back?" He asked.
"All you need to do to keep her alive is keeping your mouth shut and not talking back." A man said at the door.
