"Uhm... Dennise, may I ask you something?" Alyssa asked the girl besides her.
"Yes?" She answered, cradling Alyssa's hand.
On the school bench, Alyssa fidgeted in her seat. "Uhh..." Alyssa coughed. "What are we?"
Alyssa, who was dead nervous, feels the gears in her heart churning, hissing in protest. She knew, whatever her answer is, her heart wouldn't take it any moment but Alyssa was determined to endure all the pain.
"Ahh... Ganern?" Dennise raised am eyebrow at the taller girl beside her. "Ligawan mo ako 'te. Hahaha! Papahirapan muna kita." Dennise giggled, especially with Alyssa's face which contorted to an unmistakeable joy. Dennise's giggles were cut off when Alyssa suddenly dove her knees to the ground.
Kneeling in front of Dennise and grinning like a fool, she took the blue eyed girl's hands in hers.
"Ligaw? As in, I can make ligaw to you?" Alyssa excitedly said, eyes sparkling in glee.
"Yes." Dennise nodded.
Alyssa stood up, jumping in joy and shouting yes repeatedly like a mad man until she hit her injured hand at a lamp post with a loud clang!
"Eeyouch!" Alyssa yelped and winced and cradled her hand, hissing in pain.
Hearing Alyssa hurt, Dennise instantly went to aid the morena.
"Haist! Ikaw kasi!" Dennise scolded Alyssa. "Akin na kamay mo."
"Ow ow ow." Alyssa muttered under her breath.
"Here, let me." Dennise gently held Alyssa's hand and kissed it. "Ayan." Dennise smiled at Alyssa. "The pain is gone!" She joyfully said leaving a very red Alyssa.
Alyssa watched the retreating form of a skipping Dennise and she swears that the kiss of Dennise on her hand lingered.
"Oh she did took the pain away..." She told to particularly no one but then a sudden wave of pain in her chest made her clutch her chest.
"Ah! Okay... Maybe not all." She winced and fell on her knees, wheezing and trying to breathe. Her eyes started to blur until everything went black.

This is unmistakably his. He thought, reading the paper in front of her. How unfortunate.
He then walked away, ripping it into shreds. "No way in hell he could get her. He has to go through me first."
"Dad?"
"Dennise?"
"What are you doing here?" Dennise asked, halting herself from skipping.
"Nothing." Mike Lazaro lied.
"Di nga pa?" Dennise smiled widely and hugged her father. "Baka namiss mo ko no?"
Mike loosened up and chuckled as he hugged back his daughter. "Yes... I did. Now, bakit ka nakangiti? Mukhang maganda ang araw ng anak ko ah."
"Talaga... Hehehe. Remember Alyssa Ahomiro, pa?" Dennise broke the hug.
"Oo naman! Napaka-bait na bata." Mike joined Dennise's walk to the Blue Eagle Gym. "Bakit?"
"Dad... She's courting me now." Dennise giggled.
Mike almost choked with his own saliva. "Really?" He asked.
