Chapter 39: Forgiving and Getting Ready

I wake up to a knock on the door. I groan but get up. I grab my thin robe and put it over myself. I tie the straps and make my way to the front door.

I open the door and freeze, with wide my eyes.

"Amber?" My dad asked, standing looking horrible.

"What do you want?" I said softly but confused.

"I just want to be in your's and your brother's life" he said sound depressed.

"Why? You clearly didn't want to talk to us when you left with your mistress" I said crossing my arms.

"I know and I feel terrible, please, just please, give me another chance" he said begging.

I looked at him before sighing.

"Fine, but it's going to take time so don't think everything is going to back to normal" I said.

"I totally understand, thank you so much" he said and I nodded giving him a closed mouth smile.

"Hey babe who was at the door?" I heard Luke say behind me. "What are you doing here?"

"Relax Luke" I said pushing him back lightly with my hands on his chest.

"What?" He asked looking at me confused.

"I forgave him, I feel bad for him" I whispered the last part to Luke, he sighed and nodded lightly.

"I have to go, thank you" my father said, walking back.

"Wait" I said and he stopped. I turn around and go to the living room. I grab a wedding invitation and walk back. I give it to him. "It's an invitation to our wedding"

"You want me to come?" He asked, I nodded.

"Yeah" I said quietly.

"Ok, I'll be there. Bye" he said before turning around and leaving.

I close the door, then I turn around and face Luke.

"Let's go wake up the kids and have a family day" I said quietly to him, he nodded, staying quiet.

I give him a quick peck before making my way to the twins' room.

After I got everyone ready, with Luke's help of course, we got into my car with Luke driving.

We first went to the movies since the kids wanted to watch a movie. Thank God Luca slept through the whole thing.

We than went to the park where the kids played with the other little kids. I was on my phone snuggling up to Luke when he yelled.

"No" he yelled causing me to jump.

"What happened?" I asked, looking for the twins.

"Some kid just kissed Ashley" he said sounding mad, I toke a deep breath before hitting Luke. "Ow"

"Don't scare me like that" I said and his jaw dropped.

"So you don't care that your daughter just had her first kiss at two?" He asked me.

"Luke, it was just a kiss, it's not like they know what it means" I said.

"Wow" was all he said.

"You are unbelievable" I said to Luke. He rolled his eyes making me laugh.

After getting home, the twins wanted to watch a movie so we all changed into pjs and cuddled up on the couch.
