The girl took a few steps towards me, holding her hand out like I was some vicous animal. I was speechless. I haven't seen a girl since, since she died. It was too painful to think her name, too painful to remember the past.

"I won't hurt you."
She said to me.

I still didn't know what to say, do to the fact not everyday a girl appears out of no where along with white particles. Just, how? Magic? I don't know much about this world, I've been trapped most of my life.

"I'm having trouble believing that a girl is standing right before me." I told her.

You may think I sound stupid, but I wasn't. Well how would you feel if you haven't seen a young woman in a year?
A year. Has it really been that long? Maybe I just lost track of dates.

The girl set her stuff down and sat down beside me.

"What are you doing out here?" She asked me.

"Traveling," I replied.

Does she want to be friends or something? I don't know if I can trust her, he might have sent her. To gain my trust and bring me home. Not going to happen.

"What about you?"

"Exploring the world," She replied.

If I put up an act in pretending to be a lonely traveler, I can figure out if he sent her or not.

There was a awkward silence between us, I didn't know what to say to this mysterious girl. She was so quiet but whenever she spoke her voice was soft and sweet.

"Did I scare you?" She asked me, breaking the silence.

"I wouldn't say scared I was more, taken by surprise," I replied, half lying and half telling the truth.

She laughed with a beautiful smile on her face.
Her being by me was relaxing, normally you would want to be far away when it came to strange people appearing out of no where. Even me, I should be scared. But this girl was different, she was calming towards me. She wasn't hostile when she first saw me, she was instead kind when she didn't have to be. The people I've met in my past would kill a scrawny person like me in a heartbeat, the first chance they got to rob me. Not that I hold anything valuable. Everything that was valuable to me is now lost. I stay on my own, I don't need anyone but myself. I don't need love or thousands of gold coins. I just need to get by and keep going in life and maybe I'll need that one day. Just not now.

"I'm sorry to have taken you by surprise, Mr Gladiator."
She replied, saying my name in a fancy like tone. Kind and sweet. It made me feel something strange, attracted to her? No what am I thinking? I can't love, not ever again. But this is a different kind of love. I don't love her, I'm just admiring her beauty. There are many different ways to state love.

I forced myself to smile at her, bit surprised by how she said my name.

"How did you do that anyway?" I asked her, changing the topic. You couldn't blame me for being curious.

"Its a story worth telling another time. We should sleep now, we both have a long journey ahead of us,"
She told me, she made it sound like it was nothing.

How can she be so calm and just trust me immediately?

"What do you mean us?"
I asked her.

"Well we're both traveling to no specific destination, it's best that we travel together. You look like you could use an extra hand,"
She replied, gesturing to me. I felt a bit offended by that but didn't say anything.

"All right, if I wake up to find this all to be an act for you to rob me, there's going to be some consequences." I told her. I could beat this girl, with how nice and calm she is, she probably is going to rob me.

She smiled and walked over to a different tree to set up camp. She laid her sack down and pulled out a blanket.
I stared longingly at her then turned away before she caught me staring.
She seemed to have just caught me because moments later she passed me another blanket.

"Thank you." I told her, not knowing what to say.

"No problem, Mr Gladiator," She replied.

"Good night."

"Good night,"

Peaceful noise throbbed the air. There were no birds chirping, no bugs being annoying, but there was the wind blowing the grass. The crickets chirping loudly. The toad croaking by the river. The fish diving out of the water and back in. The fire burning the firewood, it's crackling sound. But none of it bothered us. It was like it wasn't there. I was worried this girl, Y/N, if that's even her real name, was going to rob me and leave me for dead. But what could she possibly steal from me that's worth something? Myself to the person I'm running from? That'll be worth a lot. Great, now I'm even more terrified. I sighed. And they say women are the ones who are too paranoid and overthink things. I curled my legs closer to my body to keep warmer.
Y/N stayed silent, I knew she wasn't asleep. I could tell by how she's trying not to open her eyes. Was she ignoring all these sounds too? Was she running from someone too? Was she in the same situation? This was all so weird I definitely am overthinking things. I can't fall asleep because my stupid mind and thinking are keeping me awake. She would be asleep by now if she wasn't thinking, something was on her mind. Who knows, maybe I'll find out soon.
