I ran out behind the trees looking frantic. Y/N was there waiting for me, laughing. I then realized it was a joke and let out a small laugh.

"Your face though!"
She said, pointing at me and still laughing.

"Please don't hold that against me forever."
I begged.

"No promises,"

We had been traveling for a few hours, we were both quite tired after the long journey.

"Halt!"

Y/N and I both stopped in our tracks, looking around until we spotted a man in a tree above us.

He wore all black from head to toe, the little hair I could see under his small black hat was black and curly.
His skin was a pale pasty white. He had a black satchel hanging across his body.

"Ah, two travelers I see!" He raised his voice a bit, he wasn't yelling he was just talking loudly.

"Yes we are two travelers, what is it you need?" Y/N replied, her voice wasn't the normal one she had around me.

It wasn't the brave one she used when talking to those guys in the bar and that old man. No it was the sweet voice she used when she first met me. I noticed whenever she spoke to someone she didn't know she either had that soft and sweet voice or she had that strong tone. But when it was just me and her, her voice was a regular woman's voice.

"Ah I see! Might I ask where to?" The man asked us.

Before I could reply, Y/N replied for me.

"No where in particular, just passing through,"

"But there you are wrong, little girl,"
He said while throwing his satchel to the ground.

I almost laughed at him, this guy had no idea what Y/N can do to him without my help.

"How am I wrong for saying I'm just passing through?" She asked him.

"You see little girl, you're in my territory and to cross there needs to be an agreement,"

I saw Y/N roll her eyes.

Goodbye kind, innocent, soft and sweet voice. Hello harsh tone and a whole lot of talking.
I thought to myself.

"First off I am not a little girl, I am nineteen years old. Second, are you a King with a kingdom? A lord with land? Or were you some slave who escaped Feudalism and his lord to become some idiot who thinks he owns a few miles of trees?"

"Ah but the line of feudalism is long gone, in this century we have a lot of Kings, barely any lords. No I was not a slave, my mother and father did something one night and created me which they couldn't stand to have me so I was of course thrown to the bandits. I was raised by the bandits and became one of them, and now I'm leader. I own this land of trees because I say so, and to be exact it's not just trees. I have my own little kingdom not far from here," He explained.

To be honest I felt bad for the guy, I adjusted my eyes so I could look at Y/N. When I did, I saw she showed no emotion to this man.

"Don't show your pity to me, I don't need it." He told us.

My gaze focused on Y/N, making sure she didn't try anything.
But I didn't notice a fist flying towards my face.
My face immediately turned to the opposite side from the attack.
I knew I was being attacked, so I didn't bother to feel my face.
I could hear Y/N taking out of her sword, ready to fight.
