"Team work makes the dream work."

{Important message at the end, it's nothing dramatic just something you guys need to know}
"Y/N and I are going to go out exploring, can you watch Sarah?"
I asked Jeffry.
"Of course! You two have as much alone time as you need!" Jeffry laughed, patting my back. I stifeled a small laugh and turned my head look at Y/N. Her cheeks were bright red, I couldn't tell if it was from embarassment for the joke Jeffry said or if she imagined something due to Jeffry's joke. Oh dear Gord I don't want to imagine.
(you're welcome @Tinyweirdpersonbruh )
I grabbed my sword off the table. Y/N already had her bow in hand and her arrows on her back. My brown leather satchel was hung across my body. Water and two apples were inside, in case Y/N and I couldn't catch anything and were hungry.
"Bye Jeffry."
Y/N said before leaving the house with me. I looked around at the busy town. The life people had here was peaceful. Going through their everyday lives. Is that the life I wanted for Sarah and Y/N? To have a normal life in a boring small town? No, Y/N and I would be miserable. We'll live in the forest, we can build our own home. Maybe we can invite Jeffry and Carol to come live with us, they seem to like Sarah. And they could watch Sarah while Y/N and I were out on our adventures. When my father returns, we'll kill him. But what if he has changed? What if he was just an alcoholic who lost his mind? He's admitted into killing Baylee, I can never forgive him for that. I could still never figure out why he killed Baylee. He says she was bad. I was about to escape him with Baylee, he ruined all of that. I looked to the sky and wondered if alternate universes were real. If there was a universe where Baylee was never killed, and we were off happy together. Maybe I'm Baylee and Baylee is me, it wouldn't matter. All that would matter is our safety. I wish I could talk to Baylee, even just for a minute. Just so I could tell her I was sorry and that I loved her. I promised to avenge her. Meaning I have to kill my father. Maybe Y/N and I can just teach him a lesson using our swords, and if he returns we'll kill him. Get him out of our life forever. I looked at Y/N and smiled weakly as we left the village and entered the snowy forest.
"Prey is pretty scarce right now so we may be unlucky."
Y/N told me, her eyes meeting mine.
"Yeah, they're all going into hibernation. At least the village has food we can buy," I replied, trying to lighten up the mood.
"That's true, but there's no meat. I don't want to live on fruit, cheese, and bread forever,"
She remarked. I nodded my head once in agreement.
"We can try and catch a duck, they might be out and about."
I suggested.
"All right, let's try that then,"
We walked further into the forest, hoping to hear the familiar sounds of water.
Y/N looked up to the trees and slowly pulled out one of her arrows.
"Stay quiet."
She whispered. I tried to see where she was looking but knew something was there.
She aimed her bow and shot one of her arrows. Birds flew out of the trees and into the sky while one dropped limp to the ground. She picked it up and opened up my satchel and put it inside.
"Nice catch." I told her before quickly kissing her lips.
She gave me a warm smile for her response.
"If we do find a river or lake we can make a spear and catch some fish."
I suggested.
"Good idea, I have my dagger on me. I just need a long stick,"
She replied.
I looked around for any sticks. Y/N walked towards a tree and jumped up, grabbing one of the thick branches and pulling herself up. She pulled out another arrow and aimed at something. When she shot her arrow, a plump squirrel fell limp to the ground. I quickly picked it up and took the arrow out of it and put it in my bag.
