A/N: So there's gonna be a lot of mini chapters just so I can update and get a few things out of the way so I don't have to put them in the bigger more important chapters. Mini chapters are important still, like a big event they'll just be shorter. I just want more romantic and fluff moments before my traditional end of the book angst comes in. ~Author~Chan
"Are you feeling better now Daddy?" Sarah asked me, smiling her toothless grin at me.
"Yes much better, thank you Sarah," I replied. She giggled loudly before hugging my leg, she was so tiny compared to me.
The older man walked back in with a slight smile on his face.
"While you were out your wife was telling me of your adventures and how you lived on the road, do you not have a house?" He asked us.
"N-no not yet," I wanted to explain that Y/N wasn't my wife, yet, but that was none of his business.
"There's a little cabin not far from here. No one lives there, my wife and I often take care of it and keep it in decent shape. Would you like it?" He asked us. Sarah and Maria's face glowed with excitement. I was about to decline but after seeing the smiles on their faces, I couldn't.
"How much?" I asked.
"No cost, you folks need a place to start your family. And the road is definitely not the place to do that," He relplied.
"Can you take us there, right now?" Y/N asked him.
"Yes of course, follow me,"
The cabin was small, but big enough for us to raise our baby. It was in the forest where we could hunt and be alone, and it was close to a village where we could buy supplies.
"Thank you again for this." Y/N told the man.
"No problem, my wife will probably come up later and bring you folks some food and blankets," He replied before slowly starting to walk away.
"Wait! We never got your name!" Maria called out.
"It's Steven," He replied before leaving. I turned to Y/N and smiled warmly. She returned the smile but it wasn't directed at me.
"Okay girls, let's go check out our new home!"
Sarah squealed and ran inside happily, Maria not far behind her laughing. Y/N didn't spare a second glance at me and walked inside.
