Amber's POV
I lift my head up to see I'm still sleeping next to Daniel. Oh my gosh! That felt so real. I'm so glad it was a dream. My eyes focus and I look at Daniel who is laying there lifeless. I let out a deep sigh.
"So i still have know idea if you can hear me but i need you daniel. we all do, we miss you. please wake up. i can't focus, your parents are worried sick! we need you daniel. please wake up!"
At that i hear the door open and daniel's parents walk in along with, Robert, Jo-Jo, JJ and Becca. they did say they were going to come in this morning. i stand up and i hug Daniel's mum. "sorry we couldn't come in till this morning..." she mumbles. "it's ok. nothing's really happening anyway" i reply looking back to Daniel. Becca walks up to me and i pick her up hand she hugs me tight.
we all pull up a chair and sit around daniel, talking. Becca sits on my lap. gosh she has a bony butt! "how long do you think he'll be in a coma for?" she asks. "umm im not sure." i mumble staring off into space. what if he never comes back? I try not to think about that so I deside to speak up.
"Anyone hungry?" I smile. Everyone nods but Robert stands up.
"I'll go to the canteen, what does everybody want?"
"Can I have a coffee and a hedgehog slice?" I ask. He nods and everyone else says what he wants as he writes the menu down on his phone. I hold out a hand full of money to pay for my food and drink but Robert shakes his head.
"It's ok. I'll pay." He says.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive"
"Thanks Robert." And with that he walks toward the door. Just before he leaves I yell out,
"Don't get in the elevator with the older lady!" I call out referring to my dream. Everybody looks at me. I remember I haven't told them about the dream. Oops.
"Never mind" I mumble. Robert walks out and we all stay quiet for a bit.
"Jo-jo's sick so I might take him home," Daniels dad stands up. They must have brought two cars. Esther, (Daniels mum) nods and JJ and Jo-Jo walk out with their dad. Becca goes and takes JJ's spot and she plays some games on Esther's phone. I watch Daniel. Lay there.
"He loves you" Esther says breaking the silence. I smile.
"He doesn't stop saying how beautiful and fantastic you are. It's pretty cute actually. When you moved away he barely ate, talked or laughed and when he heard you were going to that party, well he was over the moon." She smiles. I reply with another smile.
"I guess deep inside I felt the same way about him when I moved away and saw him at the party..." I realise.
"Sorry, I'm going to go check on Robert, he's been gone for a while" she says standing up. Actually, yeah, heads been gone for like 20 minutes. I hope he's ok.
"You coming Becca?" Esther calls out. Becca stands and follows her mum.
So now I'm alone, with Daniel. Again. I miss him so much. After a while of me just staring into oblivion, Esther, Becca and Robert walk in. Robert hands me my drink and slice and sits down.
"Thanks Robert" I smile. He smiles back and I take a sip of my coffee which just happens to be the perfect temperature.
An hour later
"We better get home, the boys are probably ripping each others heads off..." Esther says standing. I stand with them and hug each of them and they walk out the door to me waving. I go to the bathroom and sit back down next to Daniel. It's now late afternoon when I get a text on our group chat. It's from Taya.
"Just finishing my work shift, will be at hospital in 10" I reply with a thumbs up emoji when I hear the door open to see a doctor.
"How's he going?" He asks.
"No different" I mumble. He checks Daniel's life support and the monitors.
"He's doing just fine." The doctor says.
"I'm sure you've heard that the patients in comas are aware and awake?" I ask.
"I believe that, yes" he says.
"Wouldn't he be bored out of his brain then?" I ask.
"Intensely" he enthusiastically says.
"I'll leave you with your friends" he says.
"My friends?" I ask. The doctor gestures behind me and I swing around to see Shawn and Cameron. I didn't even hear them come in. The doctor walks out and I give Shawn and Cameron a hug each.
"How is he doing?" Cameron mumbles as he sits down. Shawn sits next to him and I sit in my usual chair next to Daniel.
"Hasn't changed really." I say. I hold Daniel's hand again.
"You should probably go home and have a proper rest." Shawn adds. I've been here for two days and my neck is still killing me from not sleeping properly.
I shake my head. I cant leave him. We hear the door open again and we all look over to see Skyla and Taya. I wave and stand up and hug them both.
"Amber, you should probably go home. You've been here 2 days straight and you need a good rest and a shower." Skyla says. I shake my head again. I have to be stubborn. What if something happens to Daniel while I'm gone? We stay silent for a bit.
"Have you at leased eaten?" Taya says. I nod again.
(I know it's so cliché but it's true love people. Don't hate! Lol)
I rest my hand on my neck and groan a bit.
"Are you ok?" Shawn says. I nod making my neck hurt more. When my neck is sore I get really bad headaches and I get bad headaches when I'm stressed as well so I start to feel my head throb a bit. Ugh.
"See this is why you need to go home! You don't sleep properly and you get a sore neck. Go home Amber. Daniel will be fine.!" Skyla yells. Wow. She hasn't yelled in ages. Lol.
I give in and stand up.
"Wait really?" Taya says. I nod. My head really hurts and I know nothing will happen to Daniel and if he does wake up he'll understand. I give Daniel a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek before grabbing my phone and start to walk to the door.
"How are you getting home?" Cameron asks.
"Bus?" I shrug my shoulders.
"Wait. I'll drive you home" skyla says getting up.
"Sk-"
"Shut up!" She cuts me off. "I'm taking you home no matter if you like it or not."
I sigh known gill never win this argument and I say goodbye to everyone and skyla and I walk out.
We are halfway down the hallway when we hear the door open again. We see Taya running toward us.
"Wait. I'll go with you" taya puffs catching up to us. "Maybe both of you can stay at my place tonight or something." I hesitate and nod and skyla agrees so we all walk to Skyla's brand new car and we drive off.
(Sorry this was a boring chapter, there just wasn't much to write.)
