I wake up and my neck is hurting like crazy. I moan slightly and hold my neck as I slowly sit up.
We are in a hospital room. Darn it! I was hoping that was all a nightmare and we were back when everybody was happy and Daniel wasn't cheating on me. Ugh!
I wish I never run off and I just stayed put and forgave him. Where as I just waisted a whole 2 months without him and look where he is now! I look at him. Just laying there helplessly. I go over and open the certain letting in the sunlight. I walk back over to Daniel and hold his hand when I hear the door open and I look up. Daniel's whole family walks in.
I immediately stand and Daniel's mum hugs me tight while the rest crowd around Daniels bed. I told them by phone last night about what's wrong but they were only able to come now. Bex (Daniels little sister) starts sobbing and I pick her up.
"It's ok Bex. He'll wake up soon and everything will be ok." I mumble kindly. She buries her face in my shirt and I hug her tight and sob with her.
Robert, Daniels older brother walks up to me and puts a hand on my shoulder. He smiles and I force a smile back. Jj, Daniels younger brother walks over to Daniel and just stares at him blankly. He's not much of an emotional person. Jo-jo, Daniels other younger brother holds Daniel's dads hand. They are such a cute family.
I start to feel hungry and this is my chance. Im going to run to the canteen and back. I don't want to be out of here for too long but I'm starving!
"I'll be back" I say putting Bex down. Daniel's mum nods and I sprint out the room.
I run down the hallway and dodge people walking and beds and I jump into the lift.
Before the lift gets to the floor where the canteen is, it stops at another level and someone walks in. I recongnise them straight away but before I can run out of the lift the doors close so I stand as far away from her as I can.
She hasn't noticed me yet. I don't know if I told you but when I was little my Aunty abused me. She tried to drown me and everything. She was caught and sent to jail. Anyone but her please! She stares at me then grins. Oh no. She takes a few steps closer and just as I'm about to scream she covers my mouth with her hand and grabs my wrist digging her fingernails into it. The doors open and she still grabs my wrist but lets go of my mouth.
"Scream and you can say bye to Daniel"
"How do you know about Daniel?!" I say really scared.
"Because I stuffed up his surgery" she whispers.
"YOU DID WHAT!?" I yell!? How could she!? How did she even know about us and that we were here!?
"Keep your voice down or you'll never see him again!" She whispers. She holds her hand in a shape of a gun then pats her back pocket in her jeans. There is something in the pocket as a shape of a gun. (Sorry Taya. I didn't realise this was similar to your book till I wrote it) oh no. She would. I know her. But how did she find me?! She drags me outside the hospital digging her nails into my skin which hurts like crazy.
She drags me outside into the hot sun and she shoves me into the back of her car.
When she gets in the drivers seat, she locks all the doors so I can't get out and she speeds out of the carpark. I know there is no point in screaming because no one will hear me. We stop at a red light and I hit the window to get the kids in the car next to us attention. They see me and wave. I try to smash the window open with my fist which obviously isn't working.
I still have the memory from when I was five and I couldn't swim yet. I remember her throwing me into the pool and how much drowning hurt. Then my dad came to the rescue and she got arrested. I get a funny feeling in my stomach. I'm so scared.
Skyla's POV
Amber isn't replying to anyone's texts. I'm getting kinda worried. I decide to text on our group chat.
"Hey has anyone heard from Amber?" I text everybody.
"She's not replying to my texts. I'm really worried!" Taya replies straight away.
"Same" Shawn says.
"She won't reply!" Cameron also texts.
"Meet me at the hospital asap!" I text. I run outside and Cameron pulls up straight away. Wow. That was quick. I run into the passenger seat and we drive off just over the speed limit.
Cameron and I get to the hospital first and we walk up the stairs because the lift was full and we walk down the hallway to Daniels room. We open the door to see Daniel's whole family but no Amber.
"Do you know where Amber is!?" I say drastically.
"She went to the canteen half an hour ago." Daniels mum says now sounding worried.
"Ok. Thankyou" Cameron says. We run out and I run downstairs to the canteen. There are many people here but no Amber. Where could she be!?
"Skyla!" I hear a yell. I turn around to see Shawn and Taya speedily walking to us. Cameron explains everything that just happened.
"Check her house!" Taya says.
"Well check the park." I say. The park is where Amber used to love hanging out the most. We all run to the cars and get in driving our seperate ways.
"I'm really worried Cameron" I say.
"Me too. But she'll be fine" cameron reassures me. It doesn't work very well so I grab his free hand and hold it tight.
Taya's POV
Skyla's probably overreacting a bit to much. Amber probs just went to get a star bucks or something. Like yeah I'm worried but I bet you it's all a prank. Amber's like that. We get to ambers house and Shawn knocks on the door and ambers mum answers.
"Have you seen Amber?" I say.
"No sorry." Her mum replies not sounding worried at all. If she knew what was going on now...
"Ok thank you" I say. We walk back to the car and we both get in. I text skyla.
"She's not here"
"Neither. I hope she's ok" skyla replies. I agree. I'm staring to get really worried.
A few hours later
We still haven't found her and no clues to where she might be. We have driven all over town even looked in the dumpsters. We asked a few pedestrians but no one knew. I'm freaking out.
"I'm going to call the police" skyla says for the 4th time. This time I agree and she picks up her phone and calls '000'. Minutes later we see a few police cars pull up in front of us. I show them a pic of Amber and they drive off going to look for her. I haven't eaten all day and I'm pretty hungry.
"I'm going home." I mumble getting into Shawn's car. I really need my own car. I have my license and everything.
Shawn drives me home.
"Thanks Shawn." I say getting out of his car. We both wave goodbye and as I shut the car door, Shawn makes a love heart with his hand. Awww. I walk into my house and collapses nymph bed. Ahhh! Amber where are you!?!?
Amber's POV
I think I'm in a basement. I don't know but iT stinks like mould in here even though it's like a hotel room or something. I'm handcuffed to a pole for some reason. I'm actually really scared. And what about Daniel!? I'm not with Daniel! Oh no! The handcuff is really hurting my wrist but I don't complain.
Then aunt Helgar walks down into the basement. Yep. Aunt Helgar. That's her name. She has a bowel of food and a spoon in her hand. Yay! I'm starving. She puts the food on the spoon and holds it in front of me as if I'm a baby. Ugh. It's cold mash potato which is alright Because I love mash potato but she's probably poisoned it or something. She puts the spoon in my mouth but then forces it down my throat trying to choke me. I try to push her away and eventually I do. I sit there coughing and holding my neck with my hand.
How is she so cruel? She scoffs and walks out.
Shawn's POV
No body has heard from Amber in 4 days and we are all frantically worried. I've been visiting Daniel every night telling him all the updates. So that if he can hear me, he can fight his way out of that coma to save Amber. We all need Daniel and Amber back.
Taya's not taking it to well. Well, I wouldn't blame her. I just hope Amber is ok. Wherever she is.
A/n
I'm really sorry that I turned this into a cheesy story and I've kind of selfishly brought all the attention to me...again... but I couldn't think of anything. When I started writing the start of the prequel for this, I wanted this book to be not just about me but about taya and skyla too. Obviously that didn't work out.
